Conscious Content Message Oriented Artists

About Me

CC' M.O.A came into being in the summer of 2001, Early 2000 we named ourselves Conscious Content and before that in 1995 we put out a cassette named Enlighten). We contemplated our last project "Enlighten" which included tracks like Way to Belief, Fruits of Capitalism, Minority versus Majority back in the 95! We were concerned with producing more materials in line with that style and content influenced with Islam. The main concern addressed the lack of Islam practiced in the Muslim largely populated countries and it's impact on the world condensed into lyrical digital format ! After deep discussion on the lack thereof political/ spiritual poetical tracks addressing contemporary issues with Islam. Hasim City, Abdu Sabur and AmN started meeting weekly to add more to the poetic host of ideas amidst the Global Hip Hop community. We made sure that our process of putting together beats and poems did not compromise the hukm shari in regards to producing music or it's performance. We approached the issue not comprising neither one of our understandings of music from the Shariah. Imam Ghazali's point of view fell in line with our approach in writing, production and performance. In 2000 we completed "Where is your equality", "Loose she likes A lot" and Melody. In the summer of 2001 we comprised a CD and put it to sale at the International Muslim Expo in Brooklyn ( a.k.a The Muslim Expo Shout outs to Musa and Imam Baqi's family may Allah give the them tawfiq!)We received a lot of positive feedback leading to the formation of our website and our tracks uploaded to the Muslims In Hip Hop MP3 website. Our track "Where's Your Equality" was chosen in its top ten. (Prior to that our singles were uploaded to the old school MP3.com site by our shabab in Europe in 1995 ).In 2001 we completed our website www.lyricsnlightn.com. ( currently changing the domain name and website 2006). All of our songs were available for listening at that time. We also had an album for sale on the mp3.com site called "For The Real To Feel" with a total of 11 tracks. We appreciate your support and hope we can add to the numbers of excellent materials from the large list of Muslim Artists in Hip Hop. We respect each individuals correct understanding of the shariah, be it an idea widely accepted by the ulema or an idea that is widely accepted yet recognized on a minority level. May Allah make us amongst those who are steadfast in all things worthy of the hereafter!
