Hi and thanks for dropping by! Here's a little bit about me: I feel like I've been in some kind of love affair with music and words since before I can remember. I innocently sang along to the Beatles in the family station wagon, played classical piano and flirted with writing little songs when no one was home. But by 17, it looked like things were starting to get a bit more serious between us so I left the disgruntled suburbs and went off to music school to see what would happen. There we rode a roller coaster of highs and lows, endured many a roof raising fight, and even almost broke up a few times. But in the end we managed to make it through with only a few scars and promises that things would get better...
And they did! My first recording of original songs was made in 2005 called 'On My Way'. It was recorded live off the floor with drummer/producer/engineer John Raham (The Be Good Tanyas, Kinnie Starr, Po' Girl). I sang, played piano and guitar and I was joined by a stellar cast of some of Vancouver's finest musicians who also happen to be my friends: guitarist Dave Sikula (The Inhabitants, Crash), bassist Patrick Metzger (Headwater) and drummer Dan Gaucher (Stop Time, Doppler Defect, Rabnett 5). The album has since met the happy ears of many through live shows, campus radio play, CBC, a local charity compilation, the web and podcasts. College and university radio stations from across Canada even charted the album in their top thirty.
It has definitely been a beautiful adventure so far, but now this music and I have decided it's time once again to take it to the next level and make another big commitment to our mysterious relationship. We've been tinkering in the studio and our next record is forthcoming... Wish us luck! I hope you enjoy what emerges!
