Marble Rye has built a reputation of having an exceptional live show which is both intense and playful, with enough room for head-banging and dancing.
They have created songs you have to move to and that will get stuck in your head using a unique blend of alt-rock, classic rock, and more recently, a hint of Motown.
The four members, Shannon Marshall (bass/vox), Mike Durrant (drums/vox), Brandon Woudzia (guitar/vox/keys), and Jared Manierka (vox/guitar/keys/sax), have been honing their stage performance by playing shows all over the Vancouver scene and across Western Canada.
Marble Rye cite a wide array of influences ranging from Silverchair, to Queen, to Stevie Wonder. This is apparent on their first EP titled "Tight Pants Wide Stance" released in summer 2007 . The songs on this EP came together with the help of producer Josh Ramsay. There are moments of high-flying guitarmonies, a capella vocals, and subtle yet powerful piano.
Marble Rye is planning to play shows all over Canada within the next year. Marble Rye is aspiring to make their passion for creating and performing music a lifestyle and are looking for the right people to help make this happen.
