About Me

Classical guitarist Kristen Cudmore and double bassist Michael Vaughan, both from Nova Scotia, originally formed a duo while in university in 2004. Upon graduation, on a whim, they re-located to the other side of the country and started creating what would be best described as humble lyrical art-folk jots mixed with hip hop, jazz, and classically inspired acoustic instrumentals.
The two took a liking to Vancouver and called it their home indefinitely. Soon after, they released "The Baby EP", a collection of songs later to be released as the full-length debut CD " ". Language-Arts sought out Gregor Phillips to become their drummer in 2007 for their Western Canada tour. A year later Karma Sohn was invited to join as the band's keyboardist for their first national tour.
Language-Arts has found an equilibrium between the lyrics and the music. With their organic nature and varied musical backgrounds; Language-Arts is ready to intrigue many an audience with its pasture of styles and sounds.
