About Me

Blog master index

(For debunking, mythbusting, rants and articles, as well as a long number of videos)

A baby-eating (just kidding) liberal rivethead with secular humanist, pro-choice, pro-gay rights, anti-war and socialist sympathies, I'm also a Bright and a desperately optimistic free-thinker. I'm open-minded (which is not to be confused with "gullible") and I adore unique and unusual individuals.

My Interests

My main interests at the moment are my digital photography (see my photographic portfolio ), my music (see below), airsoft (a team activity very similar to paintball with enhanced realism), bonsai, tattoos/body modification and my various .. activities. I'm also very partial to cinema (films and movies, see below), with the occasional night out with friends.

I'd like to meet:

Level-headed, interesting, open-minded, friendly and reasonable fellow human beings who won't blow themselves up in front of me or damn me to Hell because I disagree with them.
Many of my friends who over the past 10 or so years have helped me tremendously (and with whom, I hope, I have had a similar impact).
George Romero and Bruce Campbell (of course!)

- Pictures: Please note that you are more than welcome to leave pictures in the comment section but please do not place music, video clips or excessively large pictures (no more than width = 600) therein as I would like to keep this space manageable and easy to navigate.

Friends

- Bands: If you are a British "alternative"/rock band that sounds remotely like Oasis, the Beatles, Radiohead or Blur, don't bother sending me an Add Friend request. Just because we are both based in the UK doesn't mean I like Britpop or the British "alternative" scene.
Before sending your band's Add Friend request, read this !
- Personal accounts: I will no longer be agreeing to Add Friends request unless I know that person, can see that we have things in common by looking at their profile, or this request is accompanied by a mail stating why they would like to be added. Before sending your Add Friend Request, please read this !
- Religious debate: Although I do respect and care for everyone as a fellow human being (regardless of race, gender sexual preference, height, past history, age, ethnic origin, religious or philosophical preference), if you intend to contact me in order to discuss faith, God and theology, please make sure that you read this and this before you contact me. This is particularly true if you wish to witness or evangelise to me.
- Hatemail: Under the doctrine of "Fair Use" (US Law), any insulting or aggressively-worded email may be used for the intention of comment or parody (as is allowed by the doctrine of "Fair Use" in US Law) and will never be used in an attempt to appropriate the intellectual property of the original author or misrepresent his/her expression or structure. If you object to my commentary of your email on my blog, don't send hatemail. Be warned.

Music:

My musical tastes have changed much over the past ten years. From the hardest (and often ridiculous) Black Metal bands to inanely stupid dance music, I find it increasingly impossible to define what I do and do not like. I'll simply say that I cannot stand Jazz, Rap (and other hip-hop music) and Country Music. Anything else may appeal (or I will give it a chance at least). My current passion is industrial music.

Movies:

Again, defining what I like to watch is quite a complex exercise but as a rule of thumb, I appreciate good acting, good artistic camera work and good directorship.

Books:

I often find myself bogged down in a lifestyle where I'm torn between my online activities, my many hobbies and literature. It's a daily battle, but sometimes the dusty tomes win.
