Matchbox Recordings LTD is a music promotion and plugging company incorporating a record label, P.R/A&R Agency , 2 Internet RADIO stations ( Matchbox Radio 24 and Radio Blitz 24 FM ) and a U.K Radio plugging, distribution and promotion service. We also offer CD, Vinyl and DVD manufacturing ( via our sister company UK DISCS ) and pressing, plugging and distribution packages for new Indie artists. Streamline Promotions set up the company in 1997 after promoting various live nights ( The Streamline Club ) at London venues like THE BULL AND GATE, THE RED EYE, THE UNDERWORLD and THE MONARCH. The company was originally called Streamline Promotions but was re-launched as Matchbox Recordings in Jan 2000. The success of the live gigs prompted the first release on the label The Streamline Club featuring bands that had played at the clubs. This turned out to be a big success on the Indie scene and acted as a launch pad for many more successful campaigns and promotions.
Matchbox still release the best new artists on compilations that have achieved national TV, Radio and worldwide press. Matchbox compilations have now achieved cult status worldwide. Matchbox have been bringing the public and music industry new music for 7 years and have grown into one of the UK's biggest totally Independent labels. A label that's former acts have gone onto the airwaves of Radio 1, Radio 2, XFM, BBC 6 Music, Virgin radio, BBC TV, MTV2, Top shop screens and even voted best rock acts of the year by classic rock magazine. Hell, some former label mates even got full pages in Q magazine, hit the official U.K and Irish charts and ended up on Island Records/Albert productions and more playing support to legendary acts like Paul Weller/Razorlight, Ian Brown and getting voted album of the week by NME magazine. Others have simply been played on the coolest underground Radio stations and show's all over the world like The Fresh Podcast, Delta FM, XFM Manchester, Radio Ison Australia, Radio Nowhere, Radio Freakout, 3WBC Australia, Bravo FM's EXTRAO REVOLTIJO show in Chile, TNR Radio, Radio TE, Private DRM Music Radio, Deep Cuts Radio and many more.
RADIO PROMOTION
We also offer Radio promotion and distribution services to new Independent bands and artists. We like to hear all the music we work with first for obvious reasons.
DISTRIBUTION
Matchbox Recordings now offer worldwide retail and digital distribution to Independent artists. We can make your releases available through a large network of .. stores including Amazon, CD Baby, Matchbox shop, legitimate digital distribution websites like I-tunes and more. We also supply barcodes and ISRC codes for all of our releases.
A&R AGENCY
The company also promotes new music via an A&R Agency that has supplied new music to worldwide music companies from major labels ( including E.M.I, Sony, B.M.G, Warner, Universal) , Indie Labels and film companies to the BBC, press, Radio, publishers and managers.
RADIO STATIONS
We operate an Independent new music Radio Station called MATCHBOX RADIO 24 . Matchbox Radio 24 has its own 24 hour playlist, specialist shows and interactive chart. The station has already broadcast to approx 250000+ .. listeners. We also run RADIO BLITZ 24 FM an .. Radio station that specialises in new Indie music, 80's, new wave, goth, punk and alternative.
SUBSIDIARIES.
Matchbox Recordings recently set up the sub-label Face Value Records who hit the official UK chart at no 100 with it's debut release and has released cult albums from bands like The Shaker Heights. Face Value is distributed by Genepool/Universal music operations.
UK Discs i s the manufacturing wing of Matchbox Recordings offering CD, DVD and Vinyl replication.
