About Me

Make your own Banner Here!
British soldiers based in Germany, signed to one of Europe's largest totally indie labels...they're doing pretty well. In the 6 years that the band have been together they made their debut on an underground sampler - 'RESONANCE' in 2003. Since then the band released their debut mini album 'EVENTUALLY...' in 2004 (it even entered the UK album charts at a ridiculously low number!), Featured on the UNIVERSAL distributed compilation album 'INDEPENDENT - BEST OF MATCHBOX' in 2005 and appeared on the 'LIBERATING MUSIC' (on GoKart Records Europe - Buzzcocks, etc) with Alkaline Trio, Against Me, Lagwagon, Good Clean Fun and Bolt Thrower in 2006. The band were also voted 'BEST BAND OF 2003' by the label.
GROOVYCIDE have been played on all major radio stations in Europe and appeared in all rock music magazines - Q MAGAZINE being a highlight. The band have found time to support rock legend FISH (Marillion) in Germany in 2003 and 2004, The legendary Bollock Brothers in Germany earlier this year, and were offered the Germany support slot for UK rockers THUNDER.After support slots at the Jovel in Munster, Hannover's Blues Garage, The Forum in Bielefeld, RASS Festival 2002, the band have also taken centre stage at the Pop Forum in Zwolle Holland and Gutersloh'ss Die Weberei... not to mention being asked to perform at the RockHard Festival in Gelsenkirchen!
GROOVYCIDE guitarist BUTCH plays Ibanez guitars thru Marshall amps and gets all his strings/T shirts, etc courtesy of Ernie Ball USA - cheers Beth! Des uses Ashdown amps and whatever bass he can get his hands on - and Ernie Ball bass strings... (cheers again Beth!). Taff's recently got his hands on a spanky new top of the range TAMA kit so doesn't need any endorsements... and Carl just turns up and sounds/looks good! Also, gotta give a big shout out to the guys in Texas from Houston's LIVESHOT who made GROOVYCIDE guitarist Butch feel right at home - cheers guys and all the best for the future... It was a pleasure!Since the band were reunited after a few lengthy operational tours - it's been a busy time. A quick trip into the studio to record some 'live' favourite covers, gigs in the UK and Germany, more radio play in the UK and around the Globe, appearances in SOLDIER magazine, more newspaper column inches and invitations to perform at festivals in the UK - shame the boys were in Iraq!2009 sees a unique opportunity - the band will be together (with no tours, courses, deployments) for at least 6 months! GROOVYCIDE should be playing somewhere near you in the very near future.... href="http://myspace.com/houstonsbestrock"
