The band signed to Complete Music a division of the Cherry Red group and recorded 2 singles. The first single was produced by Pat collier ( Vibrators, Wonderstuff ). " Love is Dead" was a 7 minute long Indie classic and got to no 4 on the alternative music charts in South Africa on 5 F.M. The single and it's B-side " Dear Jayne" also received a lot of airplay on Radio One , G.L.R and more. Some of their gigs were attended by a then unknown Liam Gallagher. Second single " Kitchen Party" also received a lot of radioplay and numerous reviews in the N.M.E and MELODY MAKER. The band split due to tension and musical differences.

Dale's debut self produced solo album " Winter Colours in Summer" was released in 2000 and generated a lot of rave reviews including the NME who called the single " In the country" "Brilliant and Superb" and TNT who said "Destined for big things" . One of the tracks " Jackripper" went to number 1 in Italy and Spain on the Peoplesound charts and stayed in that position for a month. The album was a lovely acoustic based drawing board for Dale's very personal lyrics and features dreamy alt.country-ish songs like "In the Country", "Jackripper" and epic piano ballads like "Tonight ( Can't get used to losing you ) and more ".

His second solo album " Fountainhead" was released in 2002 and featured some of Dale's most emotional and honest songs. It was a much bigger and epic sounding record than his previously acoustic debut. "Fountainhead" is full of strings, emotional and honest vocals, piano, big drums, eery organs and a lush production. The first single from "Fountainhead" was the beautiful violin lead "Mary" featuring Claire Watts. This very brave single is about Dale's aunty who suffers from Down Syndrome and is in a mental institution in Natal, South Africa. ( Mary since died in Dec 2004 Bless her soul but this song has immortalised her ). Even though the song was not an obvious choice as a single Dale released it with a bizzare video featuring him in an authentic 1960s straight Jacket. The video was produced by Rudolf Buitendach.

His self produced 3rd album followed and was a limited edition lo-fi acoustic record that took him back to his acoustic roots. The album titled " Hope and a Northern Girl" features 9 new acoustic songs written by Dale in 2003. "Hope" features songs like: Judy, Hope, Mad Mad World, I won't go away and more. Dale is currently a member of electro pop outfit The Ejector Seats and is also recording songs for his 4th album " Sugar Cane and Banana Fields " including new songs like "Time to say Goodbye", "Sorry", "Valentines Day", "Dan at the Gates" , "You want a family", "Sugar Cane and Banana Fields", "56 Globe Road", "Only You", "Looking for love", "Sunset at Midmar" and a cover of Edith Piaf's "No Regrets" + more so watch this space."FOUNTAINHEAD" the album from DALE OLIVIER now available from ..">;;.. ..
