Born in Cambridge ON and raised in the Azores-Portugal where I started drumming with "Stormwind" an original Heavy Rock band. Stormwind was considered, among others, one of many who revolutionized the face of Heavy Metal contributing to today's musical scene throughout the islands.
Extensive touring through the 90's, media coverage, participation in numerous well known festivals and the 1994 Award for Best Live Performance came to an halt when I returned to Canada and the drums were put aside to rebuild my life. Time to develop my internal clock, I guess!! Went through a music composition stage writing songs for some future projects and even adventured in some sampling/looping. In the past three years I've recorded several rock/alternative (XIII STORY) and country tracks (ALYSHA BROOKE). I've played quite a lot live and have the studio experience trying to perfect it as much as possible. From Metal to hard rock, grunge, alternative pop/rock and country...I've been there and I'm always open for new projects and new adventures/challenges.Fernando Monteiro is registered with SOCAN...
