About Me

My name is Karen Godson and I am a poet. One day, while reading my poetry web site's guestbook I read a message that suggested I open a MySpace profile to gain exposure for my poetry. The minute I saw the potential in this fabulous networking tool, I decided to put it to better use. I recently put together an amazing, all day benefit concert with 12 incredible bands, a drum circle and freestyle dance. The concert was scheduled for July 7th 2007, but financial constraints forced me to put the show on hold until further notice. We are all still very much into putting an end to Poverty and Hunger around the world and right here in Toronto; we just have to go about it some other way for the time being! I am a believer in Peace, Tolerance, Compassion and Harmony. I am Canadian, Buddhist, Libra, a pacifist and an activist. I follow a path of non-violence and promote love for all beings, human and otherwise. I attend Peace rallies and anti-war demonstrations as well as organize them myself, time permitting. Some of my past events include Earth Day street festivals and Stand Up Campaign events in conjunction with the Millennium Campaign's Stand Up Against Poverty.
I am a member of Make Poverty History, Korean Animal Protection Society and International Aid for Korean Animals as well as the founder of Paws Against Poverty annual fundraising dog picnic and Beat The Hunger benefit concert.

My Interests

I am very much into human and animal rights,PROTESTING war and ENDING HUNGER and POVERTY. I love to read, write poetry, sing and play guitar. It is my intent to buy a chunk of land, build a homestead and live as self sufficiently as possible.
