About Me

854 million people across the world are hungry
Hunger is the most extreme form of poverty, families cannot even provide their most basic needs like food and water.
The world produces enough food to feed every person 17% more than he or she needs a day
Unfortunately, still, 1/6th (18%) of the population live under the poverty line making less than $1 a day (thats more than a billion people)
53% of the global population lives under 2$ a day.
Every second, a person dies of hunger or hunger related illnesses
75% of those people are children, That's 16,000 children a day.
In 2005, 10.1 million children died before their fifth birthday
This problem, contrary to popular belief, is not solely an African and Middle Eastern problem. In the US, 1 in 8 children under 12 goes to bed hungry.
For the price of a missile, an entire school of children could eat for a whole year
It would cost approximately 19 billion dollars to end the world hunger crises, thats roughly the amount the US spends in a year on ice cream alone.
And why, might I ask, does the western world need so much ice cream, when we could be saving ourselves from our own rising obesity epidemic which is equally as harmful to one's health, solving our own poverty problem, and saving the fragile lives of those who are already overwhelmed by the devastating effects of poverty?
The point of this myspace, is not, infact, to stop you from buying cet ice cream, but rather to expose the pandemic that is World Hunger and act against it.
World Hunger is Stoppable, but it takes a world to stop it!

Nickelback: If Everyone Cared

Confusing stars for satellites
I never dreamed that you’d be mine
But here we are, we’re here tonight

Singing Amen, I’m alive
Singing Amen, I’m alive

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
We’d see the day when nobody died
And I’m singing

Amen I, I’m alive
Amen I, I’m alive

And in the air the fireflies
Our only light in paradise
We’ll show the world they were wrong
And teach them all to sing along

Singing Amen I’m alive
Singing Amen I’m alive

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
We’d see the day when nobody died
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
We’d see the day when nobody died

And as we lie beneath the stars
We realize how small we are
If they could love like you and me
Imagine what the world could be

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
We’d see the day when nobody died

We’d see the day, we’d see the day
When nobody died
We’d see the day, we’d see the day
When nobody died
We’d see the day when nobody died
