I feel that before we can have peace and understanding, we must first choose! We must choose which way we are going… I feel the first step is choosing tolerance. Because if we cannot tolerate one another in this world of ours, we can never then choose to love one another and to have understanding of one another. Many leaders throughout the history of the world, both great and famous and obscure, have tried to promote tolerance, understanding, love, and peace in the world. There will always be those who will listen and follow and those who will not. The difference now is that our world is at a critical crossroads. Because we have not respected one another, we have not respected our planet and its inhabitants, people, animals, fish of the sea, and birds of the air the earth itself is in danger of complete collapse physically. Whether or not you believe in global warming, or you are any one of the thousands of different religious sects, cults, clans, or you believe in anything at all, this is happening. Our world is in trouble physically and mentally. I say mentally because there is so much hatred, greed, disrespect and arrogance of man that, mentally, the earth is sick!Please love your brothers and sisters and the animals of our earth and the earth itself. Do not put anyone down for different ways or beliefs. Spend some time every day learning about others beliefs. You are not the only one who is important! Your beliefs are not the only ones! Every person’s life is sacred. Respect your brothers and sisters you come in contact with and those you do not come in contact with! For, they are out there! Try not to pollute! Educate yourself and your families about our earth and its needs! Spend time learning about how to protect your earth. Please give time to your children! Teach them what the schools are not teaching them….teach them about tolerance! Teach them about love. They are the future!Please understand we are one race of man. Our preoccupation with what color we are or what color others are must go away if we are ever to have peace in the world! First, must come tolerance. Then, we can love our brother and sister. And, then, and only then, will come peace. Do not live behind fences. Do not build them higher and higher to keep others you do not tolerate or accept out. Ask yourself the question, Why am I doing this! Is it helping the world be a better place? Is there someone I consider to be not like me out there who may be my friend? Is my religion or belief system better than someone else? That all depends. If you cannot live the principles of what you believe yourself and if your belief system is not about the principles of love, acceptance, tolerance and peace, and if you are not even living what you believe yourself, then it is worthless for you to have it as a belief! You may think I am intolerant for saying this! Please reconsider! Because, if your belief system is not about tolerance and love and peace on the earth, what good is it really?Please tear down the fences and walls! Please leaders of countries, understand that if you cannot sit down with any leader in the world and discuss how to have tolerance and peace, then you are not a leader, you are a failure! As leaders, and as a country, respect others cultures, beliefs and desires for their children! Others do not have to be as you are!Thank you for your time!
