Bio
A tireless track hunter, always on the keel of the best edits, promos and unique music, Rani "g" has become a mainstay in the thriving house community of Phoenix, Arizona. Forever digging digital and vinyl crates for serene soul, sexy, thumping Afro and Latin-driven deep house tracks, Rani's music journey began on the island of Cyprus. Even from a young age he responded with fascination to all of the musicality around him. His first experience DJing was at the age of ten when he blended tunes using two cassette tape decks. In his teens, one of Cyprus' most notable DJs, Dinos Assiotis, saw Rani's potential and began to mentor him, honing his blends and giving him opening slots at one of the capital's finest clubs. At the turn of the century Rani's journey brought him to America where he was exposed to the roots of house music through Phoenix's icons such as Joe DiPadova, Pete "SuperMix" Salaz & Senbad.
It was Joe DiPadova who eventually took Rani under his wing, got him his first US gigs and made him part of the team that helped promote and maintain the very well-known ongoing event "ONE", where he opened for Jojoflores and DJ Dealer of the Pound Boys. Joe even saw fit to name him World Famous Rani “g†as a marked statement of his belief in Rani and his future success. From there Rani would further develop his role in the music, either via hosting events at his former residency, Symposium, where the likes of Bugz In The Attic's "daz I kue", Sy Smith, Modern Groove Assembly, Carlos Mena, Rithma and Jay West have performed, or helping to book and promote Boddhi Satva's recent US tour.
Rani has gone on to air a number of mix shows hosted on XM Satellite Radio's Deeper Shades of House, cyberJAMZ and Pressure Radio UK. He's had numerous guest appearances around the country, including opening for Eddie Amador at "Batucada", Bradford James at "Soul Funktion" in Dallas and headlining with Raven Fox at “Loom†in Omaha. Currently holding a residency at ONE and Roka Akor, you can frequently catch Rani "g" playing the musical diaspora of Global Soul each weekend in the Shochu Lounge.

Exclusive Preview: Joe DiPadova featuring Ryan 'RB' Brown & Tara Kimes
"Papago Morning"
From time to time, you hear a piece of music that blows you away, like
"Papago morning" by Joe DiPadova did when I first heard it. This
production features all live instrumenation including lead and rhythm
guitar by Ryan 'RB' Brown, rhodes, bass, drums, congas and bongos, and
on top of this comes a magnificent vocal performance by Tara Kimes.
"Papago morning" is a very organic production based on a funky
foundation with the rest of the instrumentation adding a unique flavor
to it, a wonderful combination of various styles of music, always
sounding live and being full of emotion. Then there is the dub that
features an additional trumpet and male vocal, being on a laidback tip,
spreading a smooth mellow vibe. Simply wonderful music.
