I started drawing at an early age and haven't stopped yet...comics, cartoons and animation are a very big part of who I am...some of my favorite shows to watch as a kid were Thundercats, Transformers, Voltron, He Man, Speed Racer, MASK, Heathcliff, Grape Ape, and ofcourse Looney Toons and Tom & Jerry(even with all the embedded, not-so-subtle racism yes)...nowadayz I veg out to Spongebob Squarepants, Fairly Oddparents, Family Guy, The Simpsons(old joints), Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Robot Chicken, The Boondocks, Frisky Dingo...well, basically almost the whole adult swim line-up ya dig???
as far as deejayin, I actually stumbled into it in '94 by doin house parties with tapes & cds...in '97 I got a job at Vintage Vinyl(St. Louis Landmark Record Store) and I was around so many dope, rare and "gotta-have" records, I became a collector and began learning to mix...
my appreciation for good, significant music runs deep and I try to express that wherever I deejay...
as most deejays do, I later started dabbling in makin beats...producing under the pseudonym "Nodzilla", my style is heavily influenced by raw, traditional, sample-based Hip Hop...this stlye is the most true to our culture, I believe, because it not only sounds dope, it also teaches us about thousands of hidden and forgotten classic songs and artists while openinig our minds up to many different genres of music. at least, it did and still does for me...
