Have been DJing for what feels like forever, and have been making beats all the while. I like all types of music except country. Sorry, but I just can't take that twangy stuff; however, bluegrass I can take in small doses. My ventures have taken me from Hip Hop all the way to Electronic Music. Way too much stuff to name but I will say that Green Velvet, Markus Schulz, James Zabiela, and Carl Cox are incredible, and I don't know what I would do without my Ministry of Sound releases. In Hip Hop, I like mostly independent type artists like Spectac and MF Doom, but every now and then I will like stuff that you hear on the radio, like Kanye, occasionally other stuff but not too often. I LOVE spinning vinyl, there is no CD player in the world that can replicate the feel.......but CDJ's themselves have nifty little tricks too. It's all about using the equipment you're given to the fullest.
I have done my fair share of small parties, large parties, and all I have to say is that it is all good......I do this for the love of mixing and to share my music with others.
I started getting into house, electro, and other types of EDM because those genres are a lot of fun to spin, and I have grown to love the music and its culture. I have had a lot of help getting into the electronic music scene by simply going clubbing around Saint Louis. I have also had a lot of help from various Saint Louis and Chicago based DJ's who recommend recording labels I should check out as well as allow me to watch them mix. My eternal thanks to DJ Alexis Tucci for all she has done for me, as well as DJ Yanix for being cool.
As far as electronic music DJ's go, I really enjoy Narcosis, Mark Lewis, Brandon B, and a plethora of others in terms of local talent. On the national level, Markus Schulz as I said above, Kenneth Thomas, and SOOO many others. Roy Davis Jr. gave a fairly enjoyable set for the Studio54 party, and JunkieXL was absolutely amazing. Having grown up as a turntablist, seeing Scooter (and Lavelle I suppose too) up close was awesome. We are very fortunate to have such a varied music scene in Saint Louis; I rarely hear a set from touring DJ's that I do not enjoy to some extent. We have B&W (and I suppose the Disco Donnie) to thank for our Dante's DJ's......I wanna give a shout out to Neiko, Jimbo, Luan, Alphahouse, Flex, Unitove One, Dedication Crew, and SO many other DJ's and promoters for all they do for our city.
Whenever I get the chance I try to learn more about different styles of music by asking friends about their tastes or by going to clubs/bars. Any time I DJ i try to somehow fuse the tastes of all the people in attendance. Of course you can't please everyone, but one can try......I call my ideal mixes a sort of "Aural Chemistry" in that it brings elements of genres together in the style of music I play in a given night.
One company I work with is MegaProductions , and I run it with a friend of mine, Shafiq. We book both private parties and club events around Saint Louis.
I work as a promoter of course with B&W and have a great time working to promote the top DJ's in the world. I go to all of their events, dancing, flyering, talking, and have fun in general. I am also a resident DJ for B&W shows, which is quite fun.
Some other additions to my promoting circuit have been Vibe and Fly . Both support a great range of local and national talent worthy of recognition.
SlantEd Sounds is a small promoting company I created to focus mainly on electronic events. I have a small promoting team, and we both throw and promote small underground events and large club events. Some past solo shows we held were "KC Invasion" and "The Dante's DJ Showcase", with plenty more planned in the future.
Besides DJing I like to also draw graffiti, pencil on paper.
I don't know when I started this but it is an activity that gets me through any boring class.
I enjoy dancing, but i do not break on the floor too much. My style is a bit more jazzy in nature.

What is Aural Chemistry?
Aural Chemistry, simply put, is fusion. Throughout musical history, artists have taken their roots, the music they grew up with, the culture they grew up with, and have created their own musical styles somehow reflecting their cultures.
I am fortunate enough to have grown up in several American cultures of music....hip hop.....trance......house......rock......blues......soul.... ...and more. Thus when I play my ideal sets of music, it isn't so much one style.....it is a fusion of styles, genres, and cultures.......it is an Aural Chemistry.
