About Me

Hello,

Sometimes I like to lose myself while playing music, quite alot of different stuff comes out. The songs on this page are in the singer/songwriter vein but I've also written alot of ambient and electronica under the psuedonym 'ajt'(see top friends!).

I've also collaborated as one half of 'the24thofjune' named after our shared birthdays and, on average, the happiest day of the year! . The other half is Sharp Scratch. 'The Challenge of Feral Green' is my most recent collaboration, not so long ago we toured with Catherine Feeny and Jacob Golden.

I first learnt the guitar playing along to Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells. My first instrument was made from a cereal box, a kitchen roll tube and some elastic bands. Nowadays I have a real guitar and play out and about with my various projects.

If you come back once a week you'll notice that there is always a new song on my page. That's because once a week I make a new song available for free download so you can collect them. If you miss one or two, fear not, every twelve songs or so you'll be able to buy a solid copy of the most recent volume for a really small price. Right now we have up a song called 'The Spiral' which is song 7/volume 1. The songs were all recorded just me, my guitar, two mics and a few worthy mistakes! More info in the blog up there.

Just a quick word about the player; since they replaced it with a new one the download button seems to have disappeared. If you would still like to receive the weekly songs drop me a message containing your email address and I can send you the songs instead. Alternatively you can cut and paste this link into your browser, it will take you to a place where you can download 'The Spiral', http://www.mangoitsolutions.co.uk/Personal/The Spiral.mp3

One of my passions is making music for film. If any film makers require original music I have a large back catalogue but also get excited about making original music for specific projects.

I have always got my finger in more than one pie. At the moment I am working on a lengthy instrumental piece, featuring guitars, mandolins, glockenspiels and a couple of 1970's synths, and a new album of songs, which I am recording live. I have also just finished an album of electronica beats with retro synth sounds which you can find over on my ajt page should the interest take yer.

The album 'the inside of a mirror' is now available, featuring many of the songs from this site. It's £10 which includes worldwide postage, click on the buy now button below, you can pay with any credit or debit card. If you don't have a card get in touch and we can arrange mail order via a cheque payment.

You can read a review of the album if you cut and paste this link into your address bar

It's early Saturday morning, I've been to see Evan Dando play a solo set at the Arts Centre. I get home late, I've spoken more words in the last four hours than in the past four weeks and I can't slee...

Jurnetts Acoustic Sessions

So I've been hosting the Jurnett's Bar acoustic session (nearly) once a month. I've really loved finding songwriters right under my nose. Six years playing in Norwich you'd think I'd have you all down...
