WHITE NOISE ELECTRONIC MUSIC FESTIVAL LINE-UP:
Damo Suzuki. Member of the legendary Kraut Rock band CAN.
Vocalist Damo has been touring the world, collaborating with musicians in each city he finds himself in. Such impromptu ‘sound carriers’ will perform with him at the White Noise Electronic Music Festival headlining Friday night.
Hiem. Sheffield based electro-poppers will grace the stage at the fest on Saturday night, having recently recorded with Kate Jackson of the Long Blondes, Hiem have
had a string of dance floor successes and their live performance is a hi-energy glammed up phenomena: the Osmonds on crack.
Jarvis Cocker/Jason Buckle. This DJ tag team has just performed at Sonar
and will be having a rest up before making an appearance at WNF. Jarvis is pretty much a household name that needs no describing, remember that Michael Jackson incident, and Jason is a fellow Sheffield lad, member of Relaxed Muscle and old friend of Cockers.
The A$BO KID. Remember EMF? Well this is the former front man’s new band;
Witticisms, cultural comments and car-alarm techno of the highest order from James Atkin. ‘Unbelievable.’
The Nitewreckers. Dave Ball’s (Soft Cell/ The Grid) new band: its tainted-hardcore-electro-billy. For all you sex dwarves out there.
Dave Ball will also be conquering Cornwall with a DJ set earlier on Saturday, good.
I Monster. Performing as a DJ tag team; donning the infamous giant paper mache fly heads. With their glam stomping tunes; another of Sheffield’s finest… ‘and the beat goes on.’
Agaskodo Televerik. This duo make explosive guitar driven music , mixing traditional Hungarian with punk,chopped,stop/start lunacy, they normally perform in Sports wear with their exotic dancers, they live up to their name, it translated as ‘Rearing Stallion’.
Vars of Litchi. Glasgow based duo of distorted /looped guitar, drum & vocal.Packing out venues in Scotland, these art rockers have influences from Captain Beefheart & Devo to Wesley Willis.
Beat Frequency. Eccentric? Just a bit. Theremins galore, Wizard of the counter-sine wave-culture. Gordon Charlton (curator of Theremin symposium) is the caped crusader of the underworld.
The Dub Chieftain. Glasgow based, Eddy the chief and Kid Q mix banjos with
Game Boy graphics and loops. ‘Celtic-dub-bhangra-electro-folk.’ All hail the Scots Chieftain.
S.C.U.M 1968. If you were too old to get into the Underage Festival in London, now’s your chance to see S.C.U.M 1968 perform. Electro-Goth.
Barry 7. Add N to X & Horse Glue Records founder, he will be DJ ing. God knows what rarities he will bring for our delight. The Electronic Black Regent makes an appearance.
Woodcraft Folk. Continuing the Kraut-rock theme, the Woodcraft Folk perform to a projection of cut up cult film clips.
The Jash Band aka DJ White Noise. Jash will be performing as the 2 piece Jash Band and also throughout the entire festival as the resident label DJ, creating live remixes of all artists work on the main stage.
Dadanoys. Flying in from Columbia to grace the stage at the festival. The electro-duo torture their synths and the audience to the point of painful pleasure. Their first performance in U.K should be a memorable one.
HK119. Explosive Finnish favorite of Bjork’s. See Heidi’s superb live show and outrageous costumes.
The Pony Harvest. A Radiophonic workshops fans’ fantasy. Eccentric Sheffield lads perform their unique take on electronica with their vintage arsenal of instruments: Omni chords and suitcase synths, capes and humour.
