Right now I've created an independent feature film for the independent media, pro-democracy movement right here in the United States. We all complain that things aren't "right." Well, we need to educate ourselves. I've got the goods. Call It Democracy
We're going to be taking this film to as many places as can possibly show it. I'm hoping to meet all kinds of people because I'm not interested in only preaching to the converted. Everyone knows the system needs to be changed... what we need is a way to change it. If you want to know more about what I think, get info, become a friend here or sign the mailing list on our website http://www.callitdemocracy.com
Wave after wave. From Pere Ubu to Shostakovich, John Zorn to Hank Williams. Kind of hard to live without music. Kind of hard to learn how to take the time to hear the tree and the wind outside my sweet Brooklyn apt.
Call It
Democracy

Is?
Right now I'm reading books about elections, how they can be done right and how they can go wrong: Richard Hansons "The Supreme Court and Election Law" and the classic book about the 1876 botched up presidential election C. Vann Woodward's "Reunion and Reaction." I've been obsessed with this issue since the 2000 election and I'm still learning!
Abbie Hoffman, Birch Bayh, Angela Davis, Theodore Drieser, John Barth, Mary Gaitskill. My grandmother Esther, 96 years old and cooler than most of us.My favorite directors are Alahandro Jodorowski, Terry Gilliam, and Pier Paolo Pasolini. They broke some barriers and more need to be broken. I've written a few scripts in that vein combining theatrics, effects, and intense storytelling.
