About Me

MyGen Profile Generator

Good stuff: I'm sincere, kind, tolerant, compassionate, curious; I enjoy learning; I'm trustworthy, I have a sense of humor, and I dream in color.Bad stuff: I can get very angry, I can be incredibly lazy, I'm a terrible procrastinator, an insomniac, a worrier, and I can be shy.I ended up with a MySpace page because of my children. My kids both had pages, and instead of banning MySpace (like a lot of misinformed parents are doing) I did the research, made an informed decision, and chose to keep an eye on things rather than dictate an outright ban. MySpace is getting a bad rap from people who do not understand that Internet safety is NOT about shutting your kids off from one particular site, it pertains to the web as a whole. The kids know I am up here, not to spy on them or anything, but giving them a little safe supervision and guide them in the right direction if they need it. I love my kids - they are the best!Once I started poking around at MySpace, I discovered the terrific assortment of music available. It took me back to a day when music was an all-important part of growing up. Now that I am rediscovering what I've missed while raising kids, it is like uncovering buried treasure! It sounds so trite, but there really is a joy to be found when music speaks to a person. Be sure to search for types of music that appeal to you, as well as sample some stuff outside of your usual choices. Unfortunately, I am not blessed with any musical talent, but I love music very much. In the past year I have been exposed to all kinds of great music, both new music and old stuff that I missed out on the first time around. I guess my musical blessing is that I'm a good listener, and I truly appreciate that gift. I love and enjoy many different kinds of music. Ska, punk, rock, and Mozart are my favorites.

PLEASE NOTE: Regarding my Friends List - I do not randomly add people and bands that send a request. All of the bands listed in my Friends List are ones that I have checked out, listened to, reviewed, and think highly enough about to recommend to others.
Listed below you will find a random, collection of lyric snippets that appealed to me one way or another, some quotes, and some advice. Maybe there is something that was put here to speak to you directly, something for you to learn, some little bit of comfort.
You never know what you may find... "Static pulse inside of music bringing us escape
It's always temporary changing nothing in its wake
Just a second where we're leaving all this shit behind
Just a second but it's leaving just this much in mind:
To resist despair that second makes you see
To resist despair because you can't change everything
To resist despair in this world is
what it is to be free"
Sound System - Operation Ivy"Cardiff-By-The-Sea"The sea has become profoundly red as wine
The skies they bleed with fleeting passion tonightCome sweet euphoria your light is blinding to thee
You feel as comforting as a mother's warm embrace
But still you're just as lonely as the seaWe gaze out upon the crashing waves
From this hillside graveyard masqueradeSweet terrible angel, embrace my soul with light
Is it honesty inside my lungs and it's dying to get out
But still I'm helpless as an orphaned childCan you cure this loneliness in my heart
My heart
Can you cure this loneliness in my heart
In my heartEuphoria, euphoria"
Cardiff-By-the-Sea - The Ataris"I don't want to die
I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all"
Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen "War is going on right now
And I'm not doing anything about it
Without a crowd I'm not so loud
I can't do anything by myself
But that's just another lie"
Life During Wartime - Pinhead Gunpowder"Be positive, not negative and you will get by
It's easy to say and much harder to try
Get out of this rut that I'm circling in
'cos the walls are tall and they're closing in
No it never ends and it kicks you down
It makes you a stranger in your hometown
You've got to look forward, not try to look back
Try to be strong and you're on the right track"
Keep Trying - The Dead Pets"powers of the night
in a blue nocturne
gather in mists
and await your return"
Long After Lights Ou t - Common Rider "but in this world, in this world,
so many bright-light people end a whole lot dimmer
And in this world, in this world,
my very blackest days you could never call tragic"
Never Fit - Squirtgun"My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Till then I walk alone"
Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day"So dear friends
Your love has gone
Only tears to dwell upon
I dare not say As the wind must blow
So a love is lost
A love is won
Go to sleep and dream again
Soon your hopes will rise and then
From all this gloom life can start anew
And there'll be no crying soon"
Dear Friends - Queen On Music:

If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.
~ Henry David Thoreau (1817 - 1862), Walden, Conclusion, 1854

And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took up a harp and played...
so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him
~ 1 Samuel 16:23
A painter paints pictures on canvas. But musicians paint their pictures on silence.
~ Leopold Stokowski

Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.

Songs are like colors, you may prefer one over another - but they are each glorious to someone.
~ Me

On Life:

If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one lie the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.
~ Emily DickinsonBe not afraid of growing slowly, be only afraid of standing still.

I would really like to meet everyone in my Friends List

I can't tolerate rudeness, arrogance, bullies, or bigots. It's so much easier to be kind.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Regarding my Friends List - I don't automatically add any and all people and bands that send a friend request. I take the time to check out, listen, review, all friend requests. If a band or musician or record label is added, it is because I think highly enough about them to recommend them to others.
