About Me
Sonic Iguana Studios is one of the very first studios to dedicate itself to recording albums in the punk rock genre. Over the years, many of the most important bands in the genre have made their way through here, from late 70's and early 80's pioneers like Toxic Reasons and the Zero Boys to current punk powerhouses like Alkaline Trio, Anti-Flag, and Rise Against. During this period, many influential artists have recorded at Sonic Iguana, and just as many now-legendary albums have been produced here -- most notably in the pop-punk genre, which make up the vast majority of the catalog of style trailblazers Screeching Weasel and the Queers, to name a few. Other clients include members of punk royalty, like Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt of Green Day, and Jesse Michaels of Operation Ivy, as well as many other significant bands of the genre, such as Common Rider, Squirtgun, the Groovie Ghoulies, the Lillingtons, the Teen Idols, Even in Blackouts, the Methadones, the Copyrights, the Eyeliners, the Riverdales, the Code, Slapstick, the Peacocks (Switzerland), Los Pepiniyoz (Puerto Rico), Viernes13 (Spain), Scarred Hope (Australia), and Suckerbox (Cayman Islands), to name a few. Outside producers that have worked at Sonic Iguana include Paul Mahern (Iggy Pop, John Cougar Mellencamp) and Kris Rowe (lead singer of the Ataris). Label clients have included Fat Wreck Chords, Lookout Records, Hopeless Records, Honest Don's Records, Tooth and Nail Records, Red Scare Records, Insubordination Records, Asian Man Records, Dr. Strange Records, and many more.
