After spending years playing and performing hard, progressive and psychedelic rock; Briggs Cunningham and Alan Conquest have reached their 30's and as proud parents and both being married, their musical direction has changed with age and maturity.
“We are gathering music from our past that we grew up on and heard on the radio as children”. “Were pulling our influences from such acts as America, Crosby Stills & Nash, Doobie Brothers, Simon and Garfunkle, Joni Mitchell and the likes.” “We will be adding in many instruments and psycodelic dynamics with the help of today's technologies such as software like Reason.” “We will also add some of our musician friends as well”. “The music starts with the acoustic guitar, an idea or personal feeling and then vocals, what happens after that is up to the music.” - Briggs
More info:
Cunning as Folk consists of Briggs Cunningham and Alan Conquest. While composing songs with a basic acoustic guitar and two male vocal melodies they have added and assembled elements and dynamics found in other musicians and technology. The songs are constructed much like that of a Master Mason building a temple with a firm foundation and then letting his talents flourish without regard. The production is polished, thick, esoteric and dynamic. Both men have played music for many years live and in studio. They look forward to what “Cunning as Folk” will bring to the already recording works of their past. Briggs was the vocalist for two well respected bands “Keddah” & “Heroes for Ghosts” as Alan has played as a free agent with many groups and circles of people as a singer song writer. They are currently writing and recording while communicating with friends around the globe via the www. They are also working with guest musicians from their past in their studio in Ocotillo Arizona USA. Look for a full length release on “Say Something Records” – Late 2008/Early 2009. Two singles will surface soon so please check back often. – Multus Amor
