Flesh meets machinery. Myth of Mitch punches the listeners in the head in a way that somehow feels healing to the soul.
Myth of Mitch brings listeners some of the most intense music that they will likely ever hear -- in the form of a mesmerizing experience both live and on their soon-to-be released full length album "Android Ascension" and their as yet untitled EP.
Having formed in Boston, Myth of Mitch is now based in New York, where they perform regularly. The band features award winning musicians and composers who don’t let their "academic" musical background interfere with their ability to rock a crowd. Listeners often describe their sound as a twisted mix of Led Zeppelin, Miles Davis, and Bjork.
Members of Myth of Mitch have performed with Ravi Coltrane, Dave Fiuczynski (Screaming Headless Torsos), Michael Cain (Me'Shell Ndegeocello, Jack Dejohnette), Roswell Rudd, Steve Coleman, MacArthur Grant recipient Ran Blake, and Roy Haynes (Charlie Parker, John Coltrane). They hail from New York City, Atlanta, Korea, and Boston; this diverse background provides a partial explanation for why their music ranges from lullaby to nightmare soundtrack.
You want a taste? Here's a video of Sunny recording "Explode" for their upcoming album "Android Ascension". You can't see it, but the whole band is playing live (both the album & the EP were recorded live in two days and then mixed in another two).
