Heather & the Barbarians

Going Ahead and Having a Nice Time!

About Me

Heather Masse and her five piece band of Barbarians present an elegant, insistent melange of Americana: country-blues, folk, soul, and rock and roll. Shifting plainly between reverie and sobriety and braced all the while by a rampant tenderness, the Barbarians craft a artful sound that demands, engages, and soothes.
With a growing repertoire of stunningly-arranged originals and cover-songs, the Barbarians, who formed at the New England Conservatory of Music, relocated to Brooklyn in 2005. In 2006, Heather & the Barbarians recorded their debut LP at Signature Sound Studios and released Tell Me Tonight the following year.
Also in 2007, lead vocalist, Heather Masse joined the Canadian folk group The Wailin' Jennys . Other members of Heather & the Barbarians have performed with artists such as Adrienne Young, Julian Velard, holus Bolus, and Cat Show Snapshots .
