I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm an interesting person, with many stories to tell, who refuses to write a book because I'm just too busy living. I have walked many interesting roads in my life. I love to listen to others stories, which I learn from too. I've had many careers, mostly all in music, because its most prevalent in my heart. Plus, I am the type person who loves to seek as many journeys and life experiences as I can. I have been an RN working Emergency rooms, A Teacher, Magazine Editor, Rock Disc Jockey, Promotional Director, Paralegal, President of a Chamber of Commerce, Radio Producer, Computer Consultant, Legal Secretary, a political campaign fundraiser, Concert promoter, business manager, Cardio Pulmonary/Respiratory Specialist, Cook, cashier, sewing slave labor, caregiver, deaf interpreter, publicist, special events manager, 411 operator *lol* yeah I'm a daredevil...and I'm sure a few dozen more things I cant remember. Life is too short to be bored. I have found my gifts and talents, and do everyday. I am a professional "PARTYOLOGIST" I love to play, have fun with friends, plan surprise parties, BB-Q's, jam sessions, share birthday parties or just hang with a friend who might need to talk. Sometimes I just love to sit and play my guitar all by myself. When it all gets boring...my theory is ...NEXT!
I have two brothers left in my family. We are close, sometimes too close. Mom and Dad passed on several years ago to cancer and at the hands of incompetent medical staffing at a local hospital. It happens. I also lost another brother in the same time frame. I miss them terribly, but I know we will be reunited one day. In the meantime, this is what brought me back from my beautiful Yosemite to Simi Valley. I am the soul support of my brothers who fill my life with interesting experiences.
I have promised a very special person who was in my life to carry on a dream, one of which we had together one time. With my personal experience with cancer in my family and with many friends, it touched a part of me that will always take precedence. I founded the Dreamangels "Angels Network" for Cancer support in honor of Chuck McIver and my Father, Ray Whitaker, two of the most important men in my life. Its similar to a "Make a Wish" foundation, only meant for adults. Our goal it to help families and friends join in memorable events to support the moral of cancer "sufferer's" With over 400 events produced, the gathering of "angels on earth" who care for complete strangers in their plights, it is the most humbling of experiences I do.
I also carry a deep love and respect for our military. Everyday they and their families are in my prayers. With a group of single LDS friends, in my hometown of Simi Valley, we chose Memorial Day to honor all our Veterans and serve them... thus I organized "A Salute to Arms" is a luncheon and entertainment show fit for our most honored! The entire town has joined us and has made this annual event "incredible." It has become this city's way of formally saying "THANK YOU AND WELCOME HOME" to all of our Vets. The food is catered by all of the finest restaurants and others in Simi Valley, and gifts pour in for the Veterans from all businesses local and nationwide. Talents come from all walks, wishing to pay tribute to our communities vets as well. It puts tears in my eyes right now just summarizing the magnitude of this event here. We also support www.forthetroops.us in helping those currently serving. This by far is a highlight of my life and I am honored to work with the many people whom make this event happen.
I have begun a new lifestyle after much coaching and learning from Dr. Robert Young from Ph Miracle Living (www.phmiracleliving.com). Going Alkaline will save your life, or at the very least make it much easier to survive life's hurdles in disease. Similar to a macrobiotic diet, more popularly known to many cancer patients, Dr. Young's theory stands alone in common sense and thorough research into the molecular reactions of food and water we partake of. It just clicked one day and I have made the transformation, and learning to cook, go raw & green, and enjoy better health on a daily basis. The dog days of tri-tip/rib eyes and baked potatoes are long gone, salmon has replaced them along with avocados! Maybe I will live longer than I expected after all. I am so grateful for becoming acquainted with Dr. Young and his wife, and would love to introduce you to them, their research and better health and hope. Please visit their website, www.phmiracleliving.com, learn with me.
I love the ocean or a lake at sunset, for its peaceful beauty. I love waterfalls, and forests and creatures of all kinds (well except rodents, snakes, spiders and reptiles). This is probably why I ended up moving to Yosemite after the 1994 earthquake (that destroyed my home). I love all the beauty earth possesses while living there, and will always consider that my home, for once there, trust me, no one could deny God's hand in the creation of this planet.
I seek introspective time, in the beauty of this earth, in a quiet place, for I learn more about myself when I do. It also brings out some pretty good lyrics to music I love to write.
I love my "Kids" Visar, Pierre, Spanky and Nicole. Visar is a Dingo and the love of my life, he's smart, good looking, loving and kind... Pierre is a Poodle (don't need to say much more, he'll do it for me), Spanky is my 18 year old alley cat without his alley but very affectionate. He survived the 1994 earthquake with me, and we both were injured pretty badly. Then there's Nicolee, she's is a Himalayan cat, shes pretty, hairy, sweet and sassy!
My Faith
This is my Hero
GORDON B. HINCKLEY
President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
Prophet, Seer, Revelator
On January 27, 2008, GORDON B. HINCKLEY passed away at the age of 97, with his family by his side.
I had the opportunity to meet this wonderful being in September of 2006 in Sacramento, CA at the dedication of another LDS temple there.
I was humbled to my core at the radiating love that this man possessed, his small framed personage with deep blue eyes, a huge smile and wonderful giggle. His wit was only matched by his genius. His compassion for all mankind was priceless and never ending. His love for his Marjorie, his bride of 67 years set an example to all men to what it takes to hold on to love and family.
I miss him terribly, and felt the need to share with you some of my favorite pictures of this great person with you. Some photos I took, some Scot Proctor of Meridian Magazine took while traveling around the world trying to keep up with him, while chronicling his life on film.
Farewell, and well done. May you dwell forever in the highest glory of heaven with Marjorie by your side.
Till we meet again...God be with you.
I am a deeply faithful person, and know where blessings come from. I am LDS, or more commonly known as "Mormon". It just makes sense to me. I have a true testimony of my faith. I know and love my my heavenly father and his son. I try everyday to live a "Christlike" life as an example. I know Prayer works. If you need one, just ask me, I talk to my heavenly father every day and night. I stand all amazed and the blessings I receive. Living an LDS lifestyle so very beautiful. Don't believe all of what you hear about "US" . go to www.mormon.org or lds.org and learn the truth for yourself ..or just ask me.
My heart belongs to music. I am not talented, as I used to be, but now I laugh saying "God put me here to appreciate it, and I do my job well" . I have the fortune to work with many talented people, in many different types of music. I produce many concerts, promote artists and bands and love all of it. I have the highest respect for musicians and singers for all they do to entertain us. I pray a lot for those who are lost in the bad side of the music scene. I still don't understand Opera or Rap, nor do I want to. I play a little guitar, and write songs occasionally. You may have heard of at least one I've written, but thats my secret. But my basic career has been in Music and I have climbed that ladder of learning from being in a couple of bands millions of years ago, to concerts, radio, television, special event cable programming, writing, record companies, publicist, producing, managing, promoting, contracts and law. I have owned my own business since I was 21 in producing musical events in parks, on the streets, in clubs and anywhere I could put a band to play music. I have produced many charity events to benefit programs close to my heart or that needed help for the good of a community. I plan to do this all the rest of my life. It's my purpose in life I'm certain.
So if you want to know more.. you can check out my other websites...www.angelfire.com/ca/dreamangels, or www.geocities.com/the_angels_net, drop me a line in Yahoo Messenger ID "dreamangels" or send me a message here. I'd like to get to know you...yes I do.

I'd like to meet:

I would like to meet a new friend every day of my life. I have met many in my life who to this day remain dear to my heart. Some, no so, but most hard to forget for the moments we shared..

I think its important to meet new people, for they help you understand a side of you perhaps you don't see, they help you grow, they invite you to become a part of themselves in ways that you will treasure,or maybe not depending. All in all life is an adventure and it wouldn't be interesting without meeting a new friend everyday.

I have met enough "celebrities" in my line of work to know they are just people with a job, most humble and real. I am glad I don't have to deal with the privacy invasion, or paparazzi's 24/7. Its just wrong. Probably why I enjoy being in the background working. I really feel sorry for those who are stalked by camera and people who don't care about them. One day I hope the law stops all this nonsense. I really don't care what Britney does, or who Paris is dating, leave them alone will ya? Leave me alone. Media... get real find something good to report on for once.

I've met many from the INTERNET, who aren't exactly truthful of who they are, and I'll never understand that, especially when they want to meet you! Be honest with yourself, and you'll find real people who want to know you!

But I'm for real, in all I do and my integrity is most important to me. I am my word. I'm little silly and a lot of love. So when do we meet?.

FOREVER IN MY HEART...CHUCK.. .
HOW I WISH YOU WERE HERE....

Music:

LED ZEPPELIN FOREVER!!!!...

Pink Floyd, Beatles, CSN&Y, Stones, Genesis, AC/DC, Zappa and not necessarily in that order, but I love all types of music. These were my most favorite that set a good mood for me in all occasions. I love passion in music, like that of Benise (benise.com) whom I adore and could listen to for hours. I love piano, guitar, bass, drums together and individually. I always wanted to learn to play the flute, but never did. But nothing moves me like a great voice like Robert Plant or Chas West, Celine Dion or Paul Rogers, Bobby Caldwell.

Then when its time to be introspective, I light a few dozen candles, sweet incense and put on any of Kitaro's CDs and fall into a hypnotic state of calm and serenity. I was so lucky to stumble on this man's beautiful music as his first release came to the states back in the 80's, been in love with all his music since.. I do love just listening to instrumental music very much.

I know this sounds funny, but I love hymns we sing at church too, for more important reasons. My favorite spiritual song is "How Great Thou Art". But second to none is "Be Still my soul", of which there is a beautiful rendition on Piano here to sample by Christie Bessinger (you're listening to it now, isn't it pretty?). I love connecting with the spirit. So just about anything you could play, I would listen, as long as I don't find it offensive.

But I am the one Zeppelin wrote about...girl who lives in California "With love in her eyes and flowers in her hair. They say she plays guitar and cries and sings. La la la la" Yep...that be me! Right Donnie?.

I enjoy listening to new artists, upcoming bands and watching talent in music grow. I cant wait to hear real music come back, music with meaning, something to inspire people to be better, do good and love and appreciate what they already have. Now thats my kind of music!

Movies:

If its a comedy, musical or documentary, I'll watch it...without popcorn! Don't quote me on any, I'm not much of a movie fan. I'm a music lover. Now that you can quote me on!

Television:

OK I'm hooked on Grey's Anatomy, House, 24, Oprah, ER and American Idol like everyone else, but I miss Friends. I don't much watch TV really, I have so many other interest and I keep pretty busy. I will watch the news and obscure cable programming sometimes, but to me its mostly noise"

Books:

anything GORDON B. HINKLEY, Book of Mormon, Holy Bible, but I also love medical journals, homeopathic treatment books, easy tips, and educational. Leave the romance novels on Fabio's doorstep, just not into it. OK a shameless plug for my cousin, please check out and buy "Patterson's View" or visit http://www.cliffcardin.com/ he is really a great writer and my twisted twin separated at birth, so you know its good!!!

Heroes:

Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, GORDON B. HINKLEY,

Joseph Smith, Abraham Lincoln, Oprah, Mitt Romney, David Murdock, Malcom Forbes and Thomas Monson. Most important.. my Dad, who will always be my biggest HERO and my Mom whom taught me, and inspiried me to be who I am today. I know they are proud! ..
and My cousin Gary! Whom I love more than he'll ever know!
