About Me

I played guitar for drummer Dewey Martin in The Buffalo Springfield (Again) when it took ill in the summer of 1968 with a rare bison ailment. No Neil Young, no Stephen Stills, no Richie Furay, no Jim Messina. Just me and some other guys for a 3 hour tour. Gilligan was not our skipper (besides, he's just the first mate). Ended up in England by way of Hawaii, and hung with Jimi. BTW, in English High Schools, the American Revolution is 2 farmers were disenchanted with the King. They left the country. We let them. The end. Took my '66 Rickenbacker 12-string, '64 Fender strat, Gibson acoustic, and '64 Fender Bandmaster to merry ole London. Did tons of sessions. Apparently that Jimmy Page guy took off and left a hole in the session guitarist pool. Did some sessions with BeeGee's drummer Colin Peterson (he was upset when they fired him, damn that Robert Stigwood). My A&R guy at DJM, Paul Atkinson (Zombies guitarist) got me a gig recording with Reg Dwight. He has another name, but he hates it. Did the required tour of the English countryside in the worst possible bus with keyboardist Alan Price. Played with a band managed by drummer Nick Mason, while my friend Jack Bruce laughed (I assume at a joke someone told him). My mom encouraged me to play in Traffic (she even drove me, I was 17), so Chris Blackwell hooked me up with Stevie Winwood during John Barleycorn Must Die. (thanks to Dave Mason for the green Gibson Firebird). I did scores of sessions for producers Jonathon King (also Chris Neal) with Gerry Beckley and myself playing, and Dewey Bunnell engineering. Some of the tunes are on the first America album. During this time, I answered an ad in the Melody Maker and hooked up with Peter Gabriel, Mick Rutherford, and Tony Banks to audition for Genesis. I had a crush on Peter's sister Anne, Peter loved my Ricky 12-string, so I had to play with him. I recorded some tunes during Trespass. Yes, I stay in touch. Got to hang out at Apple studios and watch Beatles videos, saw the Stones and Led Zep at Hyde Park. I played with Peter Green at Wembley. I forget the next decade, ask the BeeGees what happened. My late friend and partner, Dan Armstrong, and I redesigned the best instrument compressor, the ORANGE SQUEEZER. Dan's mods and effects been used extensively in the recording studio and live by Skunk Baxter, Laurence Juber, Leland Sklar, Jack Bruce, etc. It is currently in production. Currently, I work with Waddy Wachtel (when he needs it, as if Waddy needs help) and our special crew and regular guests Keith Richards (no I don't know when he added the s at the end of his name, quit asking), Brett Tuggle, Phil Jones, Rick Rosas, Terry Reid, Angus Thomas, Keith A, Stacy, Walsh, Jackson, Bernard Fowler, Blondie Chaplin, etc.), usually at The Joint, in Los Angeles every Monday nite (almost 8 years). I also play mandolin and guitar in the Blondie Chaplin Band.******************Current Monday members Blondie Chaplin and Bernard Fowler are currently out with the Rolling Stones, Brett Tuggle is out with Lindsey Buckingham, and Rick Rosas is with Neil Young. I just finished recording some guitar for Anna Nalick. Currently I'm playing with Alison Martino, Fuzzbee Morse, and Robi Banerji in the Fuzzbees. This band name seems to change every week. This profile is way too long and boring.

My Interests

I have re-issued the "Orange Squeezer", a guitar/bass compressor that DAN ARMSTRONG and I redesigned (with Reinhold Bogner) as a pedal.

I'd like to meet:

my next guitar

Music:

songs

Movies:

ate popcorn during them.

Television:

I like TV in color.

Books:

Aren't those the retangular squary things with pictures and writing in them? I really like "My Pet Goat" from the President Bush's epilectic book list.

Heroes:

I know the answer to this. It's a sandwich. Someone told me sandwiches are no longer heroes and that they are bad for you now. I think it's the bad air in the bread from the ozone layer.
