The Fewer The Better

...And the rest of the nights a blur!

About Me

It’s 2008!

And so we’ve added a few downloads from the new album to whet you appetite, have you salivating for more, foaming at the mouth even... Also one of these tracks should be our next promo single, tell us which you think would be a good choice - we haven’t a clue!

Finishing off 2007 with a mighty blast!

Supported New Model Army and Biffy Clyro in the one week!

Yup, you read it right! On the 13th December we shared the stage with Justin Sullivan’s New Model Army and then, not seven days later, got the call to help out none other than Biffy Clyro for a sold out show on the 19th. What can we say? They all want some of our funky rock action! We made lots of new friends so come see us again in 2008!

Buy the new album

Limerick Breaks OUT! Nationwide Tour

October/November 07

Following the super-mega-launch party on the 29th September we’re going on the road for October and early November - why? because we like travelling in cars with drum kits and geetars that’s why! Check out the dates above for details - more to be announced.

But this tour is a bit special, we think Limerick music and Limerick bands deserve more attention, (and not the kind of attention that Limerick usually gets in the press either...) some of the best bands in the country have come from Limerick and are playing in Limerick right now! So we’re taking four other great Limerick bands with us for various dates and we’d like to thank them for making this particular zany scheme of ours something special. Take a bow Walter Mitty and the Realists, We Should be Dead, Seneca and Seadog for those about to rock "Raise your can of beer on high!..."

Nice praise for the new album by nice people!

"The Fewer The Better are a really great band, with great original material that rocks, and very importantly in this business, really nice people. They rock, their songs rock, its only a matter of time before the world catches up. Look out for them, when its time its time and there will be no stopping them." Bernie Torme (guitarist with Ozzy Osbourne, Gillan, GMT)

"Imagine if Meg and Jack White were to have a bunch of long haired kids who were into Rush" Pierce Turner (Irish singer and songwriter legend)

“Watching The Fewer The Better, I’m reminded that it all comes down to three simple things: Rockin, drinking, & Volume. Even just the smallest mention of their name makes me want to get hammered, bang my head & shout "WHAT? - I CAN’T HEAR YOU - I’M AT A ROCK GIG..." Robin Guy (Drummer with: Bruce Dickinson, AntiProduct, Rachel Stamp, Faith No More)

“My God the new single ’When It’s Time’ really rocks, absolutely great stuff" Alan Jacques (Presenter of Green and Live, Limerick 95fm)

"Complacent is not a word that should be associated with TFTB....since the last album this band has improved almost beyond recognition. Assured, competent and confident. The opening track 40,000,000, sets the tone that compelles you to sit and listen right through the next nine songs......Do your ears a big favour and check out this band.........The Fewer the Better? More like "The More The Merrier"..... Roddie Cleere (Chairman of the Roisin Dubh Trust, presenter of Irish Nightlife, WLRfm, Waterford)

“For those who worry that rock music has become too tame and compliant, The Fewer The Better have come to remind us that some of the best rock music can also be fun. Somehow, they also find the time to write fine tunes while they’re at it." Jackie Hayden (Hot Press)

“Buy this album and you will be cool!" Chris Barron (Lead singer with The Spin Doctors)

Thanks to everyone who made it along!

THE FEWER, THE BETTER

We fuse classic rock guitar riffage with the hard edge attitude of punK! Throw in some psychedelic lyrics and prepare to take off!!

2007: Get Ready for the Best Year Yet!

In the next few weeks we’ll be off recording in England with Bernie Torme to put the finishing touches to the second album. Look forward to hearing it in the not too distant future...

This is us live on Irish national TV, we sing a little Gaeilge here - yes we’ll do anything...

Our influences are wide and varied. Ranging from bands like Blue Oyster Cult, Rush, and Floyd through to The Ramones, Dead Kennedys, Sex Pistols and on to Zeppelin, The Doors, The Who, right up to The Foo Fighters, Jet, QOTSA, and System of a Down......................and beyond!!

Sounds Like: This is a quote from our Hotpress review earlier this year:

"The Fewer The Better are ... superior guitar rock. The lead guitar is like Hendrix. The Vocals are reminicent of The Doors. They write the songs Sid Vicious never wrote and have a strong Stooges vibe. Its all good humour delivered with style"
