****Scratchin at my Door Ep**** is now available to download from TUNETRIBE and buy online from the link below. Also available at VITAL RECORDS, Banbridge and BACKBEAT, Belfast.Soundstone present their eagerly anticipated debut EP, Scratchin' At My
Door. It has been highly welcomed not only throughout the ranks of
their devout following, but the established rock scene as a whole with
Neil Calderwoods production at Manor Park Studios. This offering has a
unique style and sound which makes it hard to categorise however, these
guys are clearly driven by dirty crunching riffs, married with descant
guitar harmonies sprinkled throughout as title track 'Still I Wake'
clearly demonstrates, with a powerful and searing vocal telling the tale
of hardships and bitter loss. One thing is for sure, Soundstone have
all the qualities & attributes to go far, and with such infectious foot
tapping sounds it quite frankly leaves you wanting...more. If their
live show even begins to capture the intensity that this offering gives
you, you're in for a fantastic treat...Get these tracks Get this Widget!

Scratchin at my Door
2007"I'll start of by apologising to the very patient guys in Soundstone for the length of time that it has taken me to do this review, i'm a lazy bitch, sorry!!!!For those who don't know, Soundstone are a heady mix of bluesy rock n roll and dirty vocal (and lyrics!!!). The three track EP was produced at Manor Park studios and its evident from the start that it has captured Soundstone at their very best. The first track 'Still I Wake' comes thumping onto the stereo with massive guitar lines and crashing cymbals. Declan's vocals cover a impressive range throughout this song and the chorus comes across as a laid back drawl. My favourite track is the southern styled 'Good for the soul' which is the kind of song that makes me wish I had a porch so I could sit on it with a big glass of Jack Daniels. I love the guitar riff in this song. They are so catchy and will be in your head for the rest of the day.'Everybody knows' is a darker, muddier song but once again its catchy and like the previous two songs it has a catchy chorus.Overall this was a great release from Soundstone, but for a band with such a wealth of material, 3 tracks is a little disappointing. Get writing the album guys and get back to Mr Calderwood ASAP to record it!!8/10Kerri
