Last Days of Death Country

About Me

The sounds created by Last Days of Death Country have been described as rich and emotional, and this is exactly what they are. Their songs are full of beautiful guitar melodies and gritty guitar riffs infused with haunting lyrical harmonies that strike straight to the heart. Newly formed, Last Days of Death Country are a band that do their extreme best to ensure that you will not forget them in a hurry. In their time together they have toured the Irish roads rather extensively and for a band that is only in the midst of recording their debut EP, they have turned quite a few heads.
Patrick O’Brien’s voice perfectly expresses the emotional lyrics and his thundering guitar lines the sound which makes Last Days of Death Country such an ear turning band. Dave O’Dowd highlights the melody lines with his gritty guitar riffs and accompanies Patrick with his own melodic vocal tone while Gary Lysaght creates his own bass styling’s to push the sound as far as it will go. Completing the line up is Rob Kelly, who produces a relentless driving and trashing drum sound that never fails to impress.
The band began recording in November '08 with Fergal Lawler (The Cranberries) and are still working under his guidance to perfect their much anticipated debut release. So far, the EP is smelling like a treat your grandmother would have rustled up, and while containing many forms of noise making tools such as xylophones, pianos, tape echoes, glasses, and bells, the EP won’t fail to live up to the Grunge rock genre. Stay tuned for more...
“Honest and refreshing tunes that strike harmonies and aggression equally well”
- MIKE KNIGHTSON - PPI Irish Music Broadcaster of the Year 2006
“Last Days of Death Country encompass everything that was good about the underground music of the late 80s and the post-grunge movement of the early 90s - think The Cure meets LIVE. O'Brien's vocals soar and take you with them”
- NATALIE HERMAN - Paddy Whacked Radio (Boston)
“Last Days of Death Country are a force to behold….”
- LIMERCK EVENT GUIDE
“They are rather intense but I like it quite a bit, what a great sound these guys have. No doubt they have very big future ahead of them….”
- LIVE 95FM (LIMERICK RADIO).. ..
