About Me

I'm a contradiction. Both insanely happy with my life and yet completely overwhelmed at the same time. I don't like to make decisions, but I will on occasion ;) I am quite tolerant...of some things. I detest arrogance, closed-mindedness, and caviar, not necessarily respectively. I also don't care for sushi. No offense. All types of fishies and friends are quite yummy when heat has been applied.
I thrive on multi-tasking as I swear I must be ADHD. I am bored too easily. My daughter sometimes threatens me with Ritalin whenever we have "serious" talks because I cannot sit still for that, and my fingers even ache to be moving. I should practice my Origami when I am in such situations...hmmmm that's a thought.
Speaking of thoughts...they randomly wake me up at night and I write them down in the dark. Sometimes I can even read them in the morning but they don't always make sense right away. If I had to choose between my laptop and my 600 thread count white Egyptian cotton sheets...I'd choose the sheets. Okay, maybe not, but it would be tough! I think storms were created for insomniacs like me...they lull me right off to dreamland.
I see past the "pretty" all the way to the core of most things, and most people. I do not "warm up" to people easily, but once I do, I am a loyal friend. I babble incessantly sometimes, but I promise to give you time to talk and I'll even listen very carefully...if you will just let me multi-task in the process!
I have a dark side but I'm not evil. I am spiritual but not religious. I am as eclectic in my beliefs as in my aesthetic taste in decor. I love the city as much as the countryside. I love movies that make you think...twice. I love to read. I love books themselves. I search for ET...I look for the good in people...I wish for balance.

"Man always travels along precipices. His truest obligation is to keep his balance." ~Pope John Paul II

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Happypeople, sadpeople, and other nightcreatures like myself.
Coffee addicts, writers, artists, star-gazers, and spiritual people.
Intelligent people, open-minded people, interesting people, bored people, and those who just can't seem to get it all together.
Those with burdens, and those without.
Those who laugh hard, love much, and sing out of tune.
Those who see in the dark, who see beyond the surface, who feel deeply and who cry.
All those who sit still and all those who dance.
And especially those who don't believe everything big media tells you...those who think for themselves.
Those who seek answers to life's difficult questions...
And, most especially ... you.

Greetings from my dark world
where innocence lies at rest
Where blackness rules the sky
and mystery builds it's nest
Where demons seek to plunder
and angels fear to tread
Where strange friends are welcomed warmly
and where insomnia makes her bed
The land of the ever-sleepless
who roam the wide, dark night
Seeking restitution
for stolen sleep or imagined slight
Welcome, welcome, welcome
all are welcome here
Those who are weary or heavy leaden
Those whose minds are filled with fear
The heart of this world beats for you
for missing peace, and long lost years
For ancient broken promises
for pain and and bitter tears.

Welcome to my world.

"Progress, far from consisting in change, depends on retentiveness. When change is absolute there remains no being to improve and no direction is set for possible improvement: and when experience is not retained, as among savages, infancy is perpetual.
Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.
In the first stage of life the mind is frivolous and easily distracted, it misses progress by failing in consecutiveness and persistence. This is the condition of children and barbarians, in which instinct has learned nothing from experience." ~George Santayana (1905)

What's new in particle physics research?
Danish physicists have managed to light-up a cloud of atoms using light teleported from a source half a metre away. “This is the first time teleportation has been achieved between the ‘flying’ medium of light and the ‘stationary medium’ of atoms,” said Eugene Polzik of Copenhagen. “Such teleportation could serve as a main building block of a quantum network connecting distant quantum processors.”

"What's wrong with having it good for a change? Now they're gonna let us have it good if we just help 'em. They're gonna leave us alone, let us make some money. You can have a little taste of that good life too. Now I know you want it, hell everybody does."
