Curriculum Vitae:
I’m Jeannie. I’m living in a miniscule Georgia town; the Southeast affords a beautiful life. Jesse and I are happily intertwined, and my life is filled with love and laughter. Zoé is my right paw, and Lucy Fur keeps me busy! My tragic flaw is sensitivity. However, I thrive in a positive and loving environment. Essentially, I think we all do, and I do “imagine all the people living life in peace…” If you don’t already, try it! Visualization is a step toward actualization.
By birth, I’m a New Yorker. As a child, music filled much of my life. My vocal debut in kindergarten featured “Aquarius,” and I continued yowling in choirs for about 20 years. No, my musical exploration didn’t end there. I had the influences of my classical guitarist mom and rock guitarist/recording engineer dad to inspire me. Lugging the awkwardness up six flights of stairs at P.S. 81, I hauled a musical instrument, twice my size, to class…a French horn! My first musical instrument! After a few years playing this, I had a brief fling with a flute. (Hmmm…wonder what drew me to that?) Later, Diana—my cohort in crime—and I trekked doggedly to Myrtle Avenue in Ridgewood so that we could learn to butcher KISS songs on piano. Diana practiced her way to musical brilliance, and me? I learned to slaughter more tunes on acoustic guitar. Now my guitar collection far outweighs my..ahem..expertise, but I love my guitars! I’ve got a gorgeous Martin, a baby Taylor (you know, for the road), and an outrageously pink Daisyrock. Somewhere between my guitars and piano, my exodus from materialism falls flat.
My first step in becoming a culture shock veteran, I went to Camelback, Juan Bautista DeAnza, and Tolleson Union high schools in Arizona. After graduation, I taught aerobics, also doing personal training and nutritional counseling, for several gyms in the Phoenix area. I worked at International Fitness Center, 24 Hour Nautilus, and World Gym. My certifications in aerobics and personal training were from both ACE and AFAA.
When I started my postsecondary education, I attended Mesa Community College in Arizona. I completed a certificate program in emergency medical technology, becoming an EMT. During this time, I worked as a counselor at a group home for troubled adolescents; I was flattered with a promotion to manager! My oldest son was born at Phoenix General Hospital on Christmas Eve. A week later, I made it back to aerobics! In addition to group home employment, I held two more jobs. Struggling as a single mom, I still taught aerobics and put in night shifts as a cocktail waitress at Graham Central Station. When available, I manned the hotline for CASA, the center against sexual assault.
Looking for a niche, I tasted life in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Smoky Mountain country is breathtaking! In Gatlinburg, I managed a clothing boutique and greatly enjoyed creating window and wall displays. In Pigeon Forge, I socialized with tourists while carving candles. One of my all-time favorite jobs was being an EMT at the first aid station in Dollywood. Right off the railroad tracks, we’d stand outside to wave at passengers riding the amusement park’s trains. Primarily, my responsibilities there consisted of relieving heat exhaustion and removing bits of coal from the eyes of atmosphere characters who staged train robberies. My love for aerobics prompted my bi-weekly commutes to Knoxville so that I could teach at the giant Bally’s Fitness Center.
For a few years, I also lived in Colorado—Broomfield and Westminster. I taught aerobics at Bally’s Fitness Center in Westminster and managed a clothing store at Tabor Center, the glass mall in downtown Denver. During this stint, I took a lot of Tylenol because of Bronco fever. John Elway haunted even my dreams. Much creepier, though, I took a course in parapsychology at Front Range Community College in Westminster. Wow. My younger son was born at Longmont Hospital on Christmas day. Although facing a journey through that day’s blizzard while in labor, I made time for a plate of spaghetti before leaving. I’d learned my lesson from my first pregnancy; hospital staff will not allow you food while in labor. What could be worse than being in labor AND being hungry? Not much, I felt sure.
Once rooted in Georgia, I worked in the emergency department at Clayton General Hospital, now Southern Regional Medical Center. Feeling unappreciated and underpaid, I returned to school. I earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from Gordon College in Barnesville, Georgia and secured licensure as a Registered Nurse. From there, my hodgepodge of experience includes Emergency Departments, Cardiac Care Units, telemetry and cardiac rehabilitation. My employers included Southern Regional Medical Center, South Fulton Medical Center, and the state prison Metro Correctional Institute. Among employment forays, I taught Health Occupations at Jonesboro High School.
For years and years and years, I attended Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. First I worked toward attaining my teaching certificate. Eventually, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in English (emphasis on Creative Writing) with a minor in Women’s Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I’ve studied lots of French and some Italian, Spanish, and German, although I can’t speak any of those languages well. I am presently pursuing a Masters degree in General Psychology. The list of things to learn is never-ending.
My two strapping boys are my greatest source of joy. This spring, my older son is graduating from GC&SU in Milledgeville, Georgia. Among his many attributes, he has an American karate black belt from Keith and Rick Vitali, and he’s a talented musician; he plays electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and blows a mean trumpet! At one time, he played trumpet for the Fayette County High School marching band in Fayetteville, Georgia. Now, he’s writing his own alternative/techno music. If he reads this, I’m sure he’ll correct me on the genre! My younger son is also a man of many talents, and he is an outstanding athlete. As child, he competed in gymnastics for Gym South in Fayetteville, Georgia. Multiple times, he ranked first in the state all-around and on various apparatus. Then, he wrestled for Northgate High School in Newnan, Georgia and became a state champion in this sport, too! He is a freshman at the Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina.
If you bore with me this far, and I mean bore in every sense of the word, I give you extra credit for perseverance! I bet you’re a dynamic individual who doesn’t leave tasks undone! Thank you for the gift of your friendship. I wish you happiness, peace, and success—whatever it is to you!
Let’s enjoy the journey together!
Over a few recent years, I’ve overcome serious health challenges through positive change. Live each moment to its fullest because nothing could be more precious than a happy, healthy life! I hope to contribute to your health and happiness, and I hope to touch many lives. Throughout life, I’ve been dedicated to making the world a bit better whenever I can. I believe essentials for one’s inner and outer health include fresh air, solid nutrition, exercise, and peace of mind. My personal goal is to promote good nutrition and offer natural supplements to enhance your diet or fill in the gaps—that is, assist you in attaining the nutrients that your diet doesn’t provide. I truly believe in that each product I’ve chosen to promote is an effective means of optimizing your health. Free-radical fighters and Omega 3s can be a positive addition to your essential vitamins and minerals. For those of us who love sweet carbs, a natural supplement inhibiting the digestion of carbohydrates can be quite helpful! If you’d like to investigate your options for better nutrition, please let me know and email me:

Although I have additional nutritional aids available for weightloss and dietary improvement, my website for organic supplements is: www.jfinelli.qhealth.com
I hope to hear from you! Jeannie :)
