Welcome to my tribute page to my favorite Italian actress of all time, Edwige Fenech. Edwige Fenech was born on December 24, 1948 in French Algeria to a Maltese father and a Tunisian mother. She began to enter beauty contests and do some modeling in her late teens, even winning the title of Miss France at one point. Due to her exquisite beauty, talent, intelligence, and sense of humor, Edwige was able to easily transition into film. She became one of the stars of Italian cinema from the late 1960's to the early 1980's, playing in everything from sex comedies (including "Ubalda, All Naked and Warm" in 1972, "Giovannona Long-Thigh" in 1973, "Innocence and Desire" in 1974," and "The School Teacher" in 1975) to giallo thrillers (including "Five Dolls for an August Moon" in 1970, "The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh" in 1971, "Your Vice is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key" in 1972, and "Strip Nude for Your Killer" in 1975). These films show the versatile range of this gorgeous and talented actress. Many of her best films were directed by Sergio Martino. Edwige has often been called "queen of the giallo." She would go on to work mostly on television during the 1980's and 1990's, as well as begin a career as a television and film producer. Her production company has produced such noteworthy films as the 2004 Al Pacino adaptation of Shakespeare's "The Merchant of Venice." Quentin Tarantino, a hugely devoted fan, offered her a cameo role in Eli Roth's 2007 horror film "Hostel 2" as an art class professor. While it was a small part, she showed that the magic and allure that attracted so many legions of fans over the years still existed to this day. I hope this tribute page dedicated to Edwige Fenech can reflect the love and honor that I devote to this incredibly sexy and talented woman.
