About Me
Welcome to the tribute page I did for one of the best remembered European actresses to work in cult cinema during the big days of the exploitation genre! She's Rosalba Neri, the beautiful and talented performer of films like Lady Frankenstein (1971), Amuck! (1972), The Cold Blooded Beast (1971), The Castle of Fu Manchu (1969), Angelique (1964), Marquis de Sade: Justine (1969), The French Sex Murders (1972) or 99 Women (1969).She was born in 1939 in Furli, Italy. Her first touch with the entertaining business came when she was very young and won a beauty contest. She started her film career in 1956, when she had a role in the obscure comedy The Penguins Are Watching Us. Her sultry, dark and misterious beauty quickly helped her to gain more important roles in films like Hercules in the Haunted World (1961) directed by the legenday Mario Bava or in the sexy adventure epic Angelique (1964), as well as in a few westerns including Johnny Yuma (1965) and Arizona Colt (1966).
But her big break was yet to come. In 1969, she accepted a small role in Jess Franco's classic women-in-prison epic 99 Women. She gained notoriety for her erotic role. She worked in 2 more movies by the director, Marquis de Sade: Justine and The Castle of Fu Manchu, starring along with Christopher Lee. After this, work was non stop for the Italian babe. Later that year, she was credited along Edwige Fenech in the giallo Top Sensation. More movies in the same vein followed, like The Cold Blooded Beast (1971), Amuck! (1972), The Girl in Room 2A (1973) or Lady Frankenstein (1971), the later being her most famous role outside Italy. Before she quit movie business in 1976, she starred in the famous action epic The Arena (1974), also starring Pam Grier.
