Dependent Music is an artist collective / label. It all started with a high school band called Burnt Black who put out a few records, and some of their friends records... like Chiselhand, Christopher Robin Device and Trephines. Dependent Music has grown over the years and now represents musicians throughout Canada at various levels in their careers. Artists connected to the collective are Jill Barber, The Remains of Brian Borcherdt, Contrived, Extra Virgin, Heavy Meadows, Holy Fuck, Junior Blue, Kary, Land of Talk, the Motes & Wintersleep.
