And from the Abyss they came

About Me

Hailing from Norwich (UK), Abyss brothers Greg and Doug shared a vision to tour the country combining their own blend of radio friendly rock with Gregs lamenting white soul voice. This took a step towards reality when they enlisted Graham Land to pound the drums in December 2003 and the three piece now tour around the U.K as often as possible, having developed a devoted fan base.Abyss have had recent success working with BBC Radio 2, for the sold on song sessions, and have had radio interviews with BBC Radio Norfolk and futurefm radio. The boys have had much success in band competitions and picked up the title of Young Musicians of the East in the best band category of Outline Magazines coveted competition in December, while in November Abyss played the University of East Anglias main stage (to a capacity crowd of over 800 people) after being announced as finalists of the Eastern Daily Press newspapers Next Big Thing competition. Notable gigs include having supported ex members of Status Quo and Deep Purple at a huge event staged at the Norfolk Show Ground playing in front of an audience of thousands - and Abyss are also keen to use their abilities to help better the community and have raised money for multiple sclerosis and motor neurone disease through the use of gigs and charity fundraisers.

Their constant ability to remain at the top of the music industry and relentless capability to find insight and new ideas for songs and lyrics is a constant inspiration to us. Otherwise, the musical integrity of the Beatles, the passion and mysterious nature of Nirvana, the power and the honesty of the music of the Counting Crows, the list goes on …
