Anthems for the Underdog

About Me

In 2001, meeting through a love for bright, sparkling, and slightly sinister indie guitar pop, three music graduates and one younger brother formed the greatest band of all time, eddyfink (sorry Coldplay). Come and join us for lessons in genital navigation.

'Eddyfink's current single (Immuno) does what many of their more well-known contemporaries fail to, by grabbing us right by the balls…this track's a killer. Watch out.' 9/10 LEEDSMUSICSCENE

'It is easy to imagine their epic quality ascending above any arena. These are genuinely well crafted songs that grabbed the crowd by the lapels; compelling them to dance and more importantly to listen. Eddyfink have quality written through them. Listen or be damned. LIBERATION FREQUENCY

'...there is an intensity, a dramatic trajectory to each of these hot-blooded songs that leaves you in a state of shock as each one reaches its close... Staggering stuff.' Carling Live

'Honestly, the whole set is a catharsis, a much-needed release for these modern times. Go! See!' MUSIC GURU

'Emotionally packed songs to tug on even the hardest to reach heart strings.' Peacework Music

The last "gigs" Mike attended were mostly at the Royal Opera House. Andy says something like "Steve copied me a cd of Upper Room b-sides" and Mike looks at him funny. The next day Mike walks in waving the Long Blondes album, proclaiming it's the best thing ever. Andy looks at Mike funny. Andy retires to his room to play Brahms at the piano.

Martin enters the room, sweaty and delicious from a long day at the construction site, wanting to know where his dinner is. Broadsheets come down and the rest of the band look up, over their spectacles*, and one of them ventures to say "sorry mate; we were busy. The good news is we solved the punctuation debate". A weary Martin proceeds to heat himself a tin of tomato soup. Broadsheets rise, remorselessly. Eventually compassion sets in and someone puts on Biffy Clyro. A serene smile creeps over Martin's face.

The band are woken at 4am by text messages from Andy, informing them that he has written the best song of all time; a ballad, this time NOT inspired by Lil' Kim. Jonathan turns over, thinking "a ballad, eh? We'll see about that" and resumes his dream in binary code. Weeks later eddyfink unleash another upbeat pop masterpiece on the world. Andy retires to his room to listen to Billie Holiday.
