MARKO DJORDJEVIC (trumpet & flugelhorn)Born in Belgrade(YUGOSLAVIA), on January 20, 1972. Began to play trumpet at the age of 9. His first trumpet teacher was Prof. Izudin Cavrkovic. Within first five studying years he won First Republic Prize in trumpet 2 times(Belgrade ’83, ’85), Second Federal Prize(Herceg Novi ’83), and First Federal Prize(Skopje ’85). During Music High School years he won First Republic Prize 2 more times(Belgrade ’87, ’90), and First Federal Prize 2 more times(Dubrovnik ’87, Belgrade ’90). He also attended "Prague Spring" International Music Festival and Competition. As a visitor(observer), he attended International Trumpet Competition and Master Class "Maurice Andre" in Paris, France, 1988. In 1991, he became regular student of Music Academy in Belgrade, where he studied trumpet in period 1991-1994. During his classical trumpet studying years, Djordjevic played numerous times as a soloist with orchestra(Hummel, Torelli, Handel...), with piano, as a first trumpet soloist in Belgrade Youth Philharmonic, Radio Belgrade Symphony Orchestra, Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra(Maler, Tchaikovsky, Saint-Saens, Franck, ...). As a soloist with Symphony and Chamber Orchestra, he performed in Yugoslavia, and in Italy, Austria...(Hummel, Handel). He recorded for Radio and Television Belgrade and other broadcast institutions. Starting with 1992, Djordjevic began paying more attention in Jazz and commercial music. Quickly he became a soloist of Radio Belgrade Big Band, and within two years(1992-1994), he performed in all major Jazz Clubs and Jazz Festivals known in Yugoslavia as a sideman, and as a leader of his own bands(Jive Quintet, M.Dj.Cool Quartet, Jazz Connection...). In October 1994, Djordjevic went to study as a regular student of University Of Music in Graz, AUSTRIA, department Jazz-Trumpet. In following years, he played as a soloist of different Jazz Bands and Big Bands. He had also a great experience playing with commercial bands, rock bands, and playing a number of Theater-Musical shows. As a member of various bands, Djordjevic performed with known Jazz musicians as: Clark Terry, Barry Harris, Peter Erskine, Ron McClure, Adam Nussbaum, Bill Dobbins, Murk Murphy, Sheila Jordan, Ed Neumeister, Dusko Goykovich, Steve Gut, Dave Glasser, Charly Antolini, Don Menza, Joe Haider, Brad Leali, Shawn Montero, Vic Vogel, Wilson DeOliveira, Nigel Kennedy, ... In 1998 Djordjevic was selected to play as a representative of Yugoslavia and University Of Music in Graz, in big European tour of "European Jazz Youth Orchestra" as a soloist, touring Scandinavia, Baltic and other European countries. In 2005 was the first European musician selected second time for EJYO, and toured Europe under the band-leadership of famous Canadian conductor and arranger Vic Vogel. In 2000, Djordjevic moved to Munich, Germany, and studied at “Richard Strauss Conservatory†in Munich, department Jazz-Trumpet as a student of Claus Reichstaller. Since moved to Germany, Djordjevic performed in major Jazz Clubs and Jazz Festivals around Germany, Switzerland (Montreux Jazz Festival 2001), and all over Europe. He is currently regular member of “Dusko Goykovich International Big Bandâ€. Since 2005 he plays lead trumpet in “Pozoriste na Terazijama†in Belgrade, playing in major great theater-musicals(Some Like It Hot, Chicago, A Chorus Line, …)In 2005, Djordjevic formed his regular working band, touring and playing on Jazz Festivals and in many Jazz Clubs, approaching his first CD recording as a bandleader. Djordjevic performed in many Jazz Clubs and Jazz Festivals around Europe: Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Luxemburg, Aaland Islands, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Chech Republik, Slovakia, Romania, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia&Herzegovina...
