Marija Blagojevic (1984) was born in Belgrade-Serbia.Started out as a member of a National Children Choir...and began playing classical piano at the age of six...After graduating from Music High School of Belgrade (Classical and Jazz Department) continued her studies at the Jazz University/Singing in Graz/Austria.She has participated in workshopes and private lessons with Patti Austin,Bobby McFerrin,Kurt Elling,Jarry Bergonzi,John Hendrix,Aria Hendrix,Shiela Jordan,Jay Claton,Melba Joyce and many others.She has performed on eminent Jazz festivals and concerts in Serbia,Slovenia,Austria etc.
Marija Blagojevic Quintet formed in 2003 is a unique ensamble.The quintet plays in diverse styles,from be-bop, swing,traditional jazz ,nu-jazz ,modern improvisation and soul..The members varied origins influence the style and the mood of it's performances and compositions....
