About Me

Add a myspace jukebox to your profile.
It's not easy being me. Everyone else grew up...but I got Transfused!!!! "Been around for a long, long time...Gonna live-NOT gonna die"...(credit goes to Moon & 10-96 cuz I stole that quote from their song "WAKE UP"). I get asked this shit all the time, so here's the story: I started singing in a punk band called CHIPS PATROLL back in 1983-when many of you were still watching Sesame Street or not even born into this fun world yet. The band soon changed our name to UNACCEPTED. We did gigs in Chicago with The Necros...Champaign,Illinois with M.I.A. and a bunch of parties in the Peoria area-and at the same time-starting up the first real organized punk "scene" around these here close-minded parts. After being kicked outta the band, I joined a hard rock/metal type band called Emerald. It was short lived & we did maybe 5 or 10 shows before I couldn't take it anymore. I formed my own band called Bloody Mess & Hate. We did gigs with Naked Raygun, GG Allin, A.O.D & more. We even played at Dukes 2 in Kenosha, Wisconsin where I met my punk soul mates--10-96!!!! (long live Dean Dirt-I miss you Brother) The band went thru numerous line-up changes. In 1987 I moved to Greeley, Colorado but soon came back & started a band called Bloody Mess & The Skabs. We were around for 8 torturous years. Our first 7-inch record came out on MEPHISTO RECORDS(only 600 pressed)in 1988 and serial killer John Wayne Gacy drew the front cover art.We toured the country. Destroying stuff. Getting banned. Destroying ourselves. We played places like New York City, Wilmington, Deleware. Philadelphia, Indianapolis, St. Louis, etc...We hooked up with Peter Yarmouth from Black & Blue Records in Rhode Island(now based in Boston) & released a bunch of singles and 2 full length albums. ("6Th Grade Field Trip" & "Hungover & Stoned") One of the Hillside Strangler killers (Kenneth Bianchi)drew the poster for our "Empty" single. We ended up flying to talk shows like "Donahue" & "Rolonda" in NYC and we appeared on "Passengers" in England too, and on "Talk Soup" on the "E" tv channel too. After 8 years--we finally self-destructed. (and not a minute too soon) I then formed The Renegades. An outlaw country band. We gigged around redneck dives in Illinois for a couple years-doing nearly 75 shows! But...I had to rock & sweat some more...So...Bloody & The Vaynes were born. We released one CD on Black & Blue Records. We toured places like Cleveland, Detroit, Indianapolis, St. Louis,etc... It lasted around 3 years. THEN: I got a job in radio and created a new alias:REVEREND DEREK MOODY. My radio show was THE CHURCH OF ROCK N ROLL. I quit The Vaynes once I got sick & tired of writing/gigs/rehearsing...blahblahblah. BUT...In August of 2003, I formed Bloody & The Transfusions & we;ve been rocking harder than ever! The band is made up of: me on vocals...Billy The Kid on drums---Dave Moe on guitar & Lincoln Log on bass. Our debut cd is out NOW!!! BUY IT!! We have been doing gigs all over: San Antonio & Austin Texas, Chicago, St Louis, Davenport, etc..(and on Thanksgiving weekend of 2006 we toured Texas again, playing Dallas, San Antonio & Austin! We are striving to write a 2nd album soon...and we want to play your bar, all ages show, party, or barmitzvah!!!! Contact me if u wanna set something up. If u wanna hear samples of my past music, or if u wanna buy stuff or get the new cd when its out, go here: www.blackandbluerecords.comIn the meantime...Don't let the truly paranoid, schizo, jealous, fruitcakes of the world ruin your day. Fuck em. Let them live in their fantasy worlds. Let them continue to be followers. And stay away from Heroin & cocaine. You will lose control. Stay in control. Write songs. Create a fanzine. Start a label. Be a promoter. Learn an instrument. Be creative. Long Live The Underground!!!!
