Olivia Greene

Vocalist Olivia Greene grew up singing in the church, then sang for years as a featured vocalist with various bands in New Orleans. She has recently become a bandleader herself, with "A-list" New Orleans musicians backing her up.Earlier, she sang with Louisiana Hall of famer Deacon John, was a featured vocalist with the legendary Eddie Bo and his band, and spent time as a background singer for "Lost Soul Queen" Betty Harris.She has played numerous times at New Orleans' jazz music landmark club Donna's Bar and Grill, at the Grand Re-Opening of New Orleans' Rock'n'Bowl following Hurricane Katrina, at the Wednesdays in Lafayette Square Concert Series, and at the annual, 5-day, Lady Fest New Orleans. She's also enjoyed performing at the posh Columns Hotel in New Orleans' Garden District, at the famous Carousel Bar and Lounge in the French Quarter's Hotel Monteleone and at the 2007 Swiss Mini-Fest Benefit for the New Orleans Musicians' Clinic, among other venues.In addition, she is a Radio Personality and Programmer on WWOZ, heard word-wide at 90.7 FM and web streaming at www.wwoz.org, Olivia is a multi- talented entertainer who combines her sincere passion for the music with a beautiful voice, and a unique sensitivity for musical nuances.The recently formed Olivia Greene Combo has a Demo CD out, and a full-length commercial CD in the works.
