Jesse Moore

About Me

Award-winning singer/songwriter and actor Jesse Moore honed his musical craft in the bars, clubs and festivals of New Orleans, and on stages around the world. With his first CD, “The Hoodoo Man,” as a calling card, Jesse Moore introduced himself to New Orleans long ago and has never looked back. His original songs and unique voice caught the attention of fans city-wide, and Jesse began spreading his brand of roots rock in the music clubs of New Orleans. A New York native, Jesse’s love for music began early. Earning top honors at the Apollo Theater’s Talent Night at age 15, Jesse always knew that music would be his life’s work. Jesse’s music then led him to more exotic locations. Performing with R&B groups Jesse drew huge audiences while touring extensively throughout the Far East, Australia, New Zealand and Japan, where he released five albums with RCA Victor of Japan.Jesse returned to the states and settled in San Francisco. After performing the role of Judas in a production of "Jesus Christ Superstar" he became a successful actor, with major roles in soaps, prime-time network television, feature and independent films and theater productions in the US and Europe. In 1986, Jesse’s friend Bonnie Raitt turned him on to the uniqueness of New Orleans and he soon began a series of more and more frequent forays to the Crescent City. Jesse then decided to return to his first love, music. He fell in love with the city and its funky music and settled down to perfect his craft. In November, 2005, Jesse released “More Than Life Itself,” named one of the "Top Ten CDs of the Year” by the New Orleans Times-Picayune.By summer 2007, although successful in New Orleans, the pain of living in the city he loved became too great and Jesse found a new place to spread his love and talent: Austin, Texas, the self-described “Live Music Capital of the World”.The following year, Jesse returned to his home, never again to leave. See, he knows what it means to miss New Orleans. /> ..
