About Me
I was born in Mansfield, Ohio. I grew up attending church and it was there at an early age, my musical background began. My father being the director of our church choir, was very inspirational in my beginnings. At a young age, I began playing for our church choir. Soon, I was playing for District and then State choirs within the C.O.G.I.C Denomination until the age of approximately eighteen. Looking for more of a challenge musically, I began playing with local musicians in small jazz combos, R & B bands, and even some country trying to sharpen my musical skills. Later, I began traveling playing hotel circuits all over the country. A few years later, I united with a Rhythm and Blues band called “White Heat,†which had a record out produced by Barry White. After leaving “White Heat,†several members and I formed a band called “Switchâ€, and from other family members in that band produced another band called “Debarge†both of which were on the Motown Label. Now residing in the New Orleans area, I have had the privilege of working with some of the countries most talented musicians. I have had many opportunities to travel the United States, Europe, and to Africa. A few of the musicians I have been privledge to worked with include:Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin, James Cleveland, Mattie Moss Clark, Les McCann, Alvin Batise , Stevie Wonder, Mary Mary,Kim Burrell, Dr John, Ruth Brown, Nicolas Paten and a host of New Orleans finest musicians
