About Me

Cícero Lee short Bio. Cicero Lee was born in Cascais, Lisbon in 1982. He studied at Interartes Music School and among his main teachers are is father Jorge Lee, a former student with Fernando Lopes Graça, and double bass player João Panta Nunes. His career as a bass player started in the year 1999 playing with is father and later with Pedro Madaleno's Grupo, Underpressure and Miguel Martins Trio. He has not restricted himself to jazz, having also played with artists such as Marta Plantier and television bands like Tomás Pimentel Orchestra. He also founded a latin jazz group, “Cuarto Espacio”, along with Cuban pianist Victor Zamora. Cícero has also played in various Jazz and Art Festivals throughout Portugal, entertaining crowds in Évora, Loulé, Santa Maria, or Macau, China. Recently he worked with Grammy Award Winning and founder of the Georgia Mass Choir, Reverend Milton Biggham in a Gospel musical production, and continues to conduct Santa Maria Blues Big Band since its formation in 2007. He recorded and co-produced the acclaimed album "Jazz Feelings" for singer Angelina. Currently dividing his time between concerts, leading workshops, and teaching, Cícero plans to fulfill the ambition of releasing his debut album in October 2008.
