Jeanette's got a style here that's really unique -- jazz vocals, but without many obvious links to other eras of the genre -- sung sometimes in a mode that's more personal and singer/songwriter oriented, but without any of the indulgences of that side of the spectrum as well. Instrumentation is sometimes spare, but perfectly placed."
