Celso Paco

Born in Maputo, Mozambique he is multi-instrumentalist, story-teller, singer and dancer since the age of 9.Majored in percussion at the Ethnomusicology Program under prof. Dumi Maraire at the Zimbabwe College of Music. 1st percussion instructor at Eduardo Mondlane University Culture Centre and at Mozambique’s National Song and Dance Company where in several occasions performed as guest-artist, turing the USA. As stage performer and workshop conductor toured several times the Nordics, Africa, Europe, the United States and Australia. Now compliting a teacher training program at folk music department of the royal college of music in Stockholm.Played theatre music on the play "Sultanens Hemlighet" directed by Eva Bergamanat the Royal Dramatic Theater - KDT in Stockholm.Musical director/composer in “Nas teias de Maputo”, a musical by one of the most popular Swedish writer Henning Mankell, Manuela Soeiro and Eva Bergaman at Teatro Avenida in Maputo, with acting sister Lucrecia Paco and dougter Finoca.Film-music composer for sound-track to “Dancing on the Edge” film by Karen Boswall, for Day Zero film & vídeo as well as to “Berättelse vid Elden” a children-film series for Swedish Educational Radio - UR by Henning Mankell.Shared stage with Papa Wemba, Natacha Atlas, Youssou Ndour, Remi Ongala Rossi; Tribut to Miles – (Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancok, Toni Williams, Ron Carter och Wallase Roonie), Hugh Masekela, Oliver Mutukudzi, Art Ensemble of Chicago, Ale Möller and more.
