It's the way you can look at something once and see one thing and later see something so completely different. it isn't the picture that has changed, it's you. the problem with abstract works is that i always want to SEE something. "well what IS it?" i ask. if it is too abstract and i can't see ANYthing, then i don't like it. Period. It's just a bunch of stupid lines. But if something sparks, a reminiscence of something, a familiar form, a color combination, a pattern, figures, faces, sex, maybe whole cities and even a universe. then the lines start to come together. it's my own story and it comes purely from my own past, perspective and mood. but it only works if i let my mind wander create the story myself.thejemalshow.com .
