About Me

Welcome to the Americana-uk MySpace site.
Our website (http://www.americana-uk.com) is still our main space on the internet and you can find album reviews, interviews, features, a forum and all the usual gubbins there, but we’ve finally dragged ourselves kicking and screaming into the social networking (ugh, horrible phrase) world as well.
What you’ll find here are some tracks from our current faves (these will change at least monthly), a snapshot of gigs happening in the next few weeks (check the main site for full details) and probably the odd provocative blog or three. If we get really competent in the future then who knows, there might be videos and all sorts making an appearance, but for the moment we’re just happy to be here and begging people to be our virtual friends.

Album star ratings a bad thing?

Shooting is it too good for chattering gig goers?

It is one of the peculiarities of gig going that irrespective of musical genre, type of venue or cost of entry there is always a small minority of people there who have come solely to talk.  A sm...

Five to see, Five to miss

Five artists to avoid in 2008 1.  Seasick Steve. Enough with the fake hobo schtick. 2.  Sam Baker. Never mind his awe-inspiring recovery from injury, is his music any good? No. 3.  Rya...
