Purveyors of Harmonic Melancholy

About Me

Truth, beauty, love, loss & heartbreak…
We’re a group of friends from south Liverpool, who came together one summer’s evening to keep ourselves immersed in music following the demise of our respective bands. From our first session together, exploring the musical styles that had influenced and formed us, we began writing songs together. After several months honing and developing our music in alcohol fuelled acoustic sessions, we decided to call ourselves Sparkwood&21 and get out and see what people thought.
‘Music so beautiful, you’ll be weeping into your shoes’
Americana UK CD Review
‘It’s a rare thing when you come across an EP that is so sublime, so addictively wonderful, that you end up listening to it over and over again. This is one of them’
Whisperin&Hollerin CD Review
‘luscious harmony-driven melodies, lilting mandolins and energetically warm tunes, all thrown together to create a beautiful, heart-warming racket. I’d certainly recommend going to see Sparkwood&21 if you get the chance…a wicked new band worth keeping an eye on.’
Whisperin and Hollerin, Gig review
‘Sparkwood&21 are a gloriously life affirming live experience and one that is well worth catching’
