About Me

Eduardo Lisavetzky, jazz piano player from Buenos Aires, Argentina, has been living and working in Berlin, Germany, for more than 40 years.

As a piano player in big bands Eduardo stuck out with his unique style, a mixture of Jazz and Latin.
His career started when he joined the SFB-Big Band lead by Paul Kuhn and performed as a sub with Horst Jankowski’s Rias Rias Big Band. During this time, he also played with the Slide Hampton Bigband and the Leo Wright Quintett.
When SFB Big Band ceased to exist, Eduardo continued in Milo Pavlovic’s Berlin Big Band.
In the 70s he founded the first ever German Salsa orchestra “Salsanco”. Here as well he was setting standards with his arrangements and his performance as a piano player.
He kept his distinctive style while at the same time he wrote arrangements for popular singers such as Udo Jürgens, Marianne Rosenberg and Mireille Mathieu.
In the 80s, his musical spirit and ability influenced Germany’s first Latin Jazz group “Candombe”.
He played at the “Theater des Westens” Berlin in many musicals like Calcutta, Zorbas and Evita.
With Shirley Bassey, he toured the world.
For decades he has been touring with Roberto Blanco.
Today Eduardo is much in demand as a sideman, amongst others for Clarissa & Around Midnight, Swing Brothers, Justo Gabriel Pérez Band, Sir Gusche Band, Umbrella Jazzmen, Karl Heinz Böhm Quartett, Jocelyn B Smith, Touch of class, Hattie St. John, Kara Johnstad.
