I was born in Buenos Aires and grew up between Brazil and Argentina, always surrounded by a musical environment. The unforgettable “jam sessions†of my childhood place at Ayacucho street – which received also the visit of the DIZZIE GILLESPIE Orchestra and the MODERN JAZZ QUARTET ! –, the sounds of jazz and bossa nova coming from my father’s piano, COCO PEREZ, and growing up among the biggest artists from Brazil, due to my parent’s night club LA FUSA – influenced my dream of being a brazilian popular music singer. When I was a teenager, VINICIUS DE MORAES, a regular artist of La Fusa and friend, heard me singing and helped me to settle my way. I was lucky that I could start my career with him. He educated me in repertoire and performance and we made a tour in Uruguay and Argentina in the last presentations of the great poet in these countries. I lived in Brazil, then moved to Spain where I took guitar and singing lessons. Back in B.A., after many years, my daughter Joaquina was born, and I settled here. I joined the band again with the help of guitar player LEO ALVAREZ and recorded my debut album, “Clarezaâ€, which includes most of the songs I performed with Vinicius at the beginning. I am grateful I could have the participation of very talented musicians who supported my project in all circumstances. I am now working on my second CD.
NOTE:..... LA FUSA was a “café-concert†in the style of the Paris’ cafés from the beginning of the XX. It became one of the most successful and prestigious clubs in the night of Buenos Aires and Punta del Este (Uruguay). Here took place the famous recordings that VINICIUS DE MORAES did together with TOQUINHO, MARIA CREUZA and MARIA BETHÂNIA. Very important national and international artists also performed on its stage: ASTOR PIAZZOLA, CHICO BUARQUE, HORACIO MOLINA, Mª ELENA WALSH, MARIKENA MONTI, SUSANA RINALDI, ENRIQUE “Mono†VILLEGAS, MARTINHO DA VILA, PAULINHO NOGUEIRA, NANA y DORI CAYMMI, BOCA LIVRE, SERGIO MIHANOVICH, CHICO NOVARRO, LES LUTHIERS, etc…
