About Me

I am a Sydney writer and mother who writes Dark gothic fantasy, supernatural historical and crime books. I live in a terrace, in the inner-city which is about one hundred and fifty years old and we are currently renovating. My partner is also a writer. We live with our daughter, Daisy a black cat called Smuchie and a very old dog called Alfie. Plus, about 78,000 books, a surplus of Mother Mary statues, vintage paraphernalia and far too much clutter. You can find loads of information about my writing and my life at my website, www.josephinepennicott.com

Heroes:

I admire people like Jim Gamble who works for the London office of the Child Exploitation and Online service. He has the grimmest of jobs having to track online predators and watch films of children being raped, tortured and killed. It's people like Mr Gamble who have my respect. Or, people who work with terminally ill children. Another career I couldn't imagine myself doing.I also think Captain Paul Watson of the Sea Shepherd is pretty terrific for having the courage and strength to stand up to the Japanese and not just film them slaughtering whales but take them on in such a pro-active fashion.Kate and Gerry McCann are also heroes in a sense for standing up to the witch hunt directed at them by the media and doing everything in their power to retrieve their daughter, Madeleine who was abducted from Prai da Luz, Portugal.
